Stayed at the Peakstones Inn after taking my niece to Alton Towers. I chose it as it was only about 5 mins drive. We had booked a twin room but as one of the chalets were free we were put there at no extra cost. The chalet was so clean, decorated very well, very comfortable and very quiet - exactly what we needed after the hectic day at Alton Towers. We had tea and breakfast at the inn and all the food was homemade and cooked brilliantly. The owner Margaeret was very pleasant and made us feel very welcome and couldnt do enough for us and the breakfast waitress was exactly the same. We loved all of the cuddly toys hanging in the breakfast room! Would I recommend Peakstones Inn ..... YES, would I stay here again........WITHOUT A DOUBT!

I have just got back from my 2nd stay at The Peakstone Inn and decided it was time I reviewed it! What can I say... In one word brilliant. Location, accommodation, staff, owner, food, value for money all fabulous. Having stayed the first time in the chalets and this time in a caravan both were exactly what is required when visiting alton towers, clean with ample room. As well as Margaret who is so lovely all the staff were friendly and helpful. We had an evening meal which was basic but tasty and very reasonably priced, breakfast was georgous.... Meant to ask if the bacon was locally sourced as it was delicious. Our stay was £95 for 2 adults and a child (she's actually 11 but was offered and ate a full size adults breakfast!!) which is more than reasonable. To top it all off the location is stunning and literally a 10 minute drive so perfect after an exhausting day at alton towers.

Room Tip: Family wise the chalets are ideal!

I stayed at Peakstones for one night on 16July 2013 in a chalet with my husband and three kids. We had an amazing time! The accomodation was clean and big enough. We had breakfast and evening meal in the restaurant and could not fault it. Margaret was the icing on the cake....nothing was too much trouble for her and she was great fun, chatting alot to our 3 boys. If we visit Alton Towers again would not hesitate to stay here. Thanks Margaret!!!

Me & my boyfriend stayed here for one night on the 4th of June. It's a 5 minute drive from Alton towers which was great. We stayed in the chalet which was lovely and clean and very spacious with plenty of hot water and a tv. We ate in the pub and both had gamon, big portions and very tasty. The only downsideto the whole place was how quiet it was but that was probabley because of the date we went. Breakfast was included and it was a lovely big full English and cereals, toast, juices and tea and coffes. Would recommend!

So, following the reviews in trip advisor we went along!
Positives:
VERY close to Alton towers
Evening meal in pub if you want it.
Food reasonable, but not á la carte!
Clean and tidy chalet accomodation.
Bunk beds, single bed and double - ample for a family of 4
Breakfast cooked to order!
Very reasonable price.
Free parking
Pleasant pub for evening meal!
Staff extremely helpful and engaging!

Negatives:
nothing else locally!
Hot water sporadic!
Window blinds fell off the wall!
We got locked into the chalet, as had accidentally double locked door - OH had to climb out of the window, thank goodness there wasn't a fire!
Plumbing not ideal! Loo was not very flushable!
Breakfast room with soft toys was novel but a little claustrophobic and weird!

All in all, ideal for a short stay with low expectations - much closer than premier inn and travelodge for Alton towers, but probably better B&B in the area.
