Was tempted to avoid all WIng Wahs after a terrible experience at their flagship restaurant at Nechells. Relented and visited this one yesterday lunch time. As is par for the course on Wing Wahs there was no explanation, we were just seated and asked if we wished to order a drink.Tables are crammed close together and was alarmed to see toddlers high chair erected right to one side of me. Fortunately occupant was well behaved and kept occupied, but this is always a risk at most buffet restaurants. Otherwise, was pleasantly surprised, have been before a few times but not recently. Am sure the choice of food has increased and for the more limited lunch time selection was pleased to see plenty of fish and prawns, yuk sung and pancakes available. The squid rings were as tender as I've ever had. The all day breakfast was not well advertised but a pleasant surprise when I accidently came across it.The selection of deserts was amazing. Everything was kept well supplied. What stood out the most to me was the staff. They were of mixed nationalities and appeared happy, not just smiling to the guests but with each other as they worked together.

On the down side my acid test at any chinese buffet is the prawn toasties and here they failed with no visible layer of pink between the sesame seeds and the fried bread. It would have been nice to see some lemon juice also.

Four adults, three children and a baby booked a table for lunch. Our table was in the games area which gave us a little more space. We all really enjoyed the variety of the food and trying new things too. The food was good for a buffet, hot and plentiful. The place was clean but a little crampt in places. The staff were friendly and attentive. I would go again for lunch as it was excellent value for money but it is not a 5 star silver service restaurant.

There is a lot of space in the restaurant and it is good for a longer visit with kids (games room). Service not so bad. The food- there is plenty to choose from, however it depends which time and which day you visit on. Do not expect high standard meals, more hotel- style. My tip is to ask to be seated not in a main room so you could get service quicker. All- you-can eat system allows you to fill your your tummy in properly but do not forget to pay for your drinks separately. There are plenty of deserts to choose from ( I mean plenty!), kids will love a chocolate fountain and crepe station! There is also a teppanyaki service good and tasty for those on a diet.

The last time I went to Wing Wah I was really disappointed with the food. It used to be fantastic when it first opened but seems to have gone downhill
