“Pleasant lunch”
Reviewed 10 August 2014 via mobile

Visited for lunch with work colleagues, the setting is smart and the staff were polite and attentive.
We ordered from the lunch time set menu and the choice was pretty good, everyone enjoyed their food and I think it's good value for what you get. They also have a garden area which looked nice, would recommend.

“Excellent meal”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

Excellent staff, very attentive and professional. Started with the fish cakes which were first class. The main was sirloin which was so succulent that it could have been mistaken for a fillet steak. Hand cut chips deserve a special mention. Too full so no pudding but a great evening. Will be back.

“Fab lobster fest, great service, lovely setting”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

The Winery has a great setting in an old Manor House and the atmosphere in the restaurant and bar was of a stylish Continental Bistro, buzzing and convivial and surprisingly you could easily hear each other talking over the hubbub. Nice views across the garden and a really nice outdoor terrace areas ( for smokers). The restaurant was packed and very busy but the staff still managed to give us a warm welcome and excellent service.

The main menu is bistro style with all the main favourites covered off. We went for the lobster fest and both had the lobster mains. The crispy Teriyaki lamb was very chewy but the lobster with new ( buttered) potatoes and salad was fabulous. Great price at £13 for a half and £26 for a full lobi. The Winery does a great assiette of deserts, a taster size portion for £2.50. We choose Eton mess, chocolate torte and sticky toffee pudding and the portions of each were more than adequate for two persons. The wine list is excellent with up to a 100 bottles from around the world , a fantastic selection to keep wine buffs happy. We opted for glasses of Moët with the lobster.

Overall we enjoyed the food, the good service and the setting and certainly would recommend The Winery for an evening dinner based on our visit.

“Superb eating”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We went to the Winery for a birthday meal - this restaurant is fabulous! The atmosphere is lively and bustling - there is a real buzz to the place. We were warmly welcomed by the staff and seated in one of the booths. The starter choice is varied and interesting and you can have a mix on a platter for 2. Delicious food. The main courses were the same and the large sirloin steak was cooked perfectly and mouth watering. There was a good choice of beers and wines - we had 2 bottles of an excellent Fleurie. The portion sizes were so good I couldn't manage my usual cheeseboard! Top marks for this restaurant, I would happily eat here again!
