Called in for a quick lunch on a Saturday. The price was £7.00 for starter and main followed by coffee or tea. The service was excellent with advice given on what dishes to have. The Thai green curry was lovely as was the pork red curry, which was a little hotter. Will certainly be returning and were advised on dishes to try next time. The restaurant was full of lovely fresh flowers which was a nice touch, though was very quiet.

A thoroughly enjoyable lunchtime meal with wonderful Thai flavours.

We were staying nearby and arrived on a wet Saturday night in February, thinking that we wouldn't need to book a table. It was packed! Despite not having a booking, the waiter found us a table and we had a really excellent meal. The choice of dishes was extensive, and the quality was great. The presentation and service was very professional, with the staff seeming to take pride in the food. As other reviewers have noted, it isn't the cheapest, but it's worth it. The atmosphere was good, with a mixture of couples, families and friends enjoying a really nice night out. If we were in the area we would definitely go again. We stayed at the Three Queens Hotel and the Baan Thai is really convenient - just down the road.

A gorgeous meal, beautiful service.
Again, Baan Thai made an ordinary evening into a fantastic one.
It's not the cheapest place to eat - meal for two with 1 bottle of House red was £60, but the food quality makes it (virtually) worthwhile.
Would have rated it 5 Excellent but for the cost.

I was a frequent visitor to this restaurant when I lived in Burton on Trent 8 years ago. We recently made a trip to Burton and went out of our way to visit this restaurant. I wish we hadn't bothered!

The waiter was curt and had obviously never heard the term "customer facing". The starters were ok. I had Thai green curry and for the first time ever I could not eat the meat. The chicken had a strange slimy texture and horrid taste. My partner's food was good to taste but was a minuscule portion.

It was quite expensive and we both felt like calling at the chip shop on the way home. I would definitely not go back.

Just to add to the experience the restaurant was very cold with no heating on. My partner was forced to eat with his coat on!

We have been going to the Baan Thai ever since it opened and every meal has always been fabulous. The food compares well with any Thai restaurant in the country and also with restaurants we have been to in Thailand. The service is wonderful. You only have to get near the bottom of your glass and you'll be offered another drink, and they remember what your favourite tipple is! They always make a fuss of the kids and when they were younger and fussier, they were happy to adapt dishes for them. We highly recommend the Moo Ping, marinated pork starter, the duck in tamarind sauce and the Choo Chee Pla Red Fish Curry as mains. The last time we ate there was for my son's 15th birthday, as it was his choice of what he wanted to do for his birthday!
