Definitely a cut or two above a greasy spoon, without a price-tag to match.
Lovely staff, that let four of us in for full lunch at 1.40, when they close at 2.00. The food is basic, but very fresh, cooked to a "T" and ridiculously cheap (less than £20 for 4, chips with pasty, scampi, burger and sausage, bread and butter, tea, coffee and 2 fizzy drinks). Salads looked good, but we're having salad for tea, so didn't partake. Ask what they have in, as I'm sure most of our dinners weren't on the menu! The place is spotless.
If you fancy a beer, I believe they supply the local pub (Devonshire?) We've eaten there on previous occasions, and the Rumbletums supplies were lovely then too.
