We stay in Premier Inn's a lot ( as they are cheap) some are good some are bad. This is one of the best we stay in. We've used it twice now.

The staff are the friendliest of any of the Premier Inn's. Always smiling and chatty every morning. The rooms are great quality and a great night sleep was had.

The pub next door provides great breakfasts too.

Used for an overnight stop visiting family. Speedy check in due to online check in. Room on the ground floor over looking the main road, you could only just hear the lorries. The room was clean and spacious air con worked just fine not that we needed it. Breakfast is great at £8.75 for everything, set us up for the rest of the day.

The hotels appearance is nice enough and the smily reception team are eager to please but when the door keycard entry to each floor breaks down, because no one changes them on a regular basis, then security becomes a problem. During my stay the door keycard entry light, to the second floor, was red and the keycard wouldn't open the door. The receptionist, who was working on her own, told us that the batteries must have failed. This meant that the staff had to manually override the system so the doors would be left open, so anyone could wander in. The lower ground floor doors were also left open whereas normally they are only accessible by keycard entry. So anyone could walk in at the lower ground level and have entry to the lift and entry to the second floor because the keycard entry system had failed. I was staying in a room on the second floor. I was with my disabled son. There were a group of Russians hanging around outside the lift doors and because the exterior doors were open. When I pointed out that leaving this lower ground door open was a potential safety risk to the guests, I was told that people had complained that it was too hot in the foyer area by the lift. But it was now 9.30pm and the temperature was cool! I felt unsafe. I was very unhappy about the conduct of the Russians who were crowding around the staff member and leaning over the counter. There doesn't seem to be any 'lone-worker' safety system in place? The cctv will only record incidents, it won't prevent staff or guests from becoming a victim! Ok, so maybe I'm over-reacting but the safety measures are there for a reason - to keep the guests safe. I was also very concerned for the lone female worker on the reception desk whose office doors were open for anyone to enter.

Good quality hotel, newly built. Modern and the breakfast is amazing, buffet continental followed by freshly made to order hot English breakfast. Fantastic value for money if you have children as they eat for free. Great stay with friendly helpful staff.

Visited August 2014 en route to Alton towers. Booked 2 rooms with Booking.com and got excellent rates. Friendly staff. Very clean rooms and bed linen crisp and freshly laundered. Quiet road, no noise from other guests. Air conditioning highly 100% efficient. Many of the other reviews I read on trip adviser flagged up A/C which were not working/non existent in other Premier inns. Wifi worked well for my teenage daughters- £3 for 24 hours. Only caveat is the satnav directions- postcode takes you to a cul de sac on the other side of the road. So either look for the Building as you drive past the Morrisons or phone ahead. Morrisons within walking distance as well. Highly recommended.

Stayed overnight at the Burton On Trent Central Premier Inn after competing in the Adidas Thunder Run 24 hour event. Staff made the stay superb and allocated us a room on the ground floor when requested as my partner was suffering from horrendous blisters, they even brought us a large bowl of ice. Brilliant service !!

Stayed here for 2 nights for £160, due to Alton Towers trip with wife and 4 teenagers in 2 rooms. This is a very clean Travel lodge in the town centre. There is a very nice Wetherspoons in the town for a nice reasonably priced meal. It as also right next to Burton train station which is handy, no downsides here. Parking only cost us £6 for 2 days and there is an Aldi next door. A special mention to all the staff who were very pleasant and helpful. Thanks.
