Pleasant staff helped with finding right rooms, extra info and ordering a taxi.

Nice atmosphere in communal bar/ breakfast area. Decent breakfast selection.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting Burton. We booked 'blind' via Hotwire and saved a couple of pounds (it was obvious that this was the hotel we were going to get, so it wasn't a shock).

The hotel is quite a long way from the town centre, but only a few pounds in a cab.

The property is fairly new, and the accomodation modern. We were a couple of hours early, but we were able to check in anyway; the hotel didn't seem very busy.

The room was clean and modern. There was tea & coffee in the room. There was a nice flat-screen TV. Our room had a shower only, no bath.

We did find that the heating went off while we were out (you need to keep a card in the slot for the electrics, so I presume this was why it went off). The room was a little cold when we got back, but the hair drier in the room made for a great makeshift fan-heater. I ran it for 5 minutes and the room warmed up a treat.

The hotel has a bar and restaurant, but we didn't use it.

The only complaint was that the breakfast was packed away too early. We staryed on a bank holiday, meaning breakfast should have been available until 10am. However, when we came down at 9.50, everything had been cleared away (I think the lady got confused, as it was the Tuesday of the Jubilee weekend - Tuesday bank holidays are rare). That said, the lady did bring us some sausages, beans, bread and juice, so we did get something to eat.

The location is a drawback if you want to be close to the town centre, but if you're looking for a motorway stop, this hotel is fine.

Good location for seeing the area. We use as we vist family that live nearby. Good selection on breakfast menu so makes it good value for money. Rooms are clean and basis. Beds could be alot more comfortable. But thanks to the receptionist, Sarah Andrew, we had a better night sleep on our second night, thank you. Pillow selection could be better, I was glad I took my own. Had a soft label but was like a bag of cement. All in all not to bad.

Room Tip: Better on 2nd floor as we were on the first floor and could here road noise all night.

Have stayed here twice and both times have been very comfortable. They were very helpful when I left something behind in my room. Will stay again when visiting family in Burton.

Standard holiday inn - clean, good sized room, comfortable bed, good shower. Breakfast was pretty decent - good choice continental plus sausages (cheap tasting), beans & scrambled eggs. The staff were efficient, happy & very friendly (although we stayed on a Friday night & the hotel wasn't busy). Burton is probably just about walkable from the hotel but we got a taxi to a restaurant in the town & it only cost £5. There are pubs, restaurants & fast food next to the hotel though. The only annoyance that we had was that the dining room at breakfast was absolutely freezing - I'm guessing that the heating was broken. Overall though, for the price we paid, this was really good value for money.

Dear Kleb99,

I am delighted that you enjoyed your recent stay with us. We did have a problem with the public area heating and we are in the process of rectifying the issue.

I was pleased to read that you found the staff pleasant and enjoyed our complimentary breakfast.

I would like to thank you for your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

Kind Regards

David Parrett
