This is a quite new restaurant situated on a busy crossroads in Burton. Inside the decor is quite "brown" and you are conscious of the fairly unattractive location outside but the food is what takes centre stage. This is not a large restaurant although seating is comfortable and on arrival we were greeted straight away, a candle was lit and our drinks order was taken promptly. A dish of marinated olives arrived with the drinks. We chose the breaded mushrooms and garlic bread. The mushrooms were most likely frozen but were crispy, not greasy and served with garlic mayo and garnish. The garlic bread was pizza style with a touch of tomato and was very tasty, hot and fresh. For main course my husband chose fillet steak napolitana which was served with a sauce of tomatoes, olives, jalapeños, garlic and anchovies. The sauce was very spicy and tasty and the steak cooked perfectly. He is not an easy man to please but he said that the steak was the best he had had for as long as he could remember which is truly a compliment coming from him. The saute potato side dish was crispy and very tasty and not at all oily. I chose tortellini Quattro formaggi. This dish was extremely flavoursome and included spinach, garlic and caramelised shallots which ensured it wasn't at all sickly as some creamy pasta sauces can be. Everything was piping hot and the timing was perfect for us. The service was good although we felt that the waiting staff did lack a little confidence which we hope will develop as experience grows. We were pleasantly surprised and quite impressed. We really hope this business succeeds.
