“Great location, good enough food if a little pricey.”

Have been here 2 or 3 times for Saturday lunch, and the food is quite good.

Don't like the beer though, but that's a personal choice.

It's a fabulous location, especially in the summer, and the restaurant is generally bright and airy. However, it lacks in numbers and the atmosphere can be very quiet.

Relatively expense when compared to similar offerings, but a good range on the menu.

The hotel has a superb location on the River Trent, with easy access to the National Arboretum, Lichfield and Burton on Trent. We were quickly booked in and directed to our room. The room itself was very small clean and tidy but in need of refurbishment. The en-suite was also very small. Whilst some attempt had been made to update the en-suite the extractor obviously had not worked for some time resulting in considerable mould on the ceiling and around the window. We reported this to the manager who had only been there for two weeks so hopefully this will be rectified. We dined in the restaurant and found the menu quite adequate and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful, although undermanned especially at breakfast.

Stopped for lunch and I had not been for a few years. Friendly enough staff but the place looking in need of a lot of TLC, not how I remember it. Food was OK but a bit over priced I think for what you got, £2.39 for a very small portion of chips. Again great location but not really shouting out to go back as there are so many pubs around that are better.

Thank Whadders
