Booked night away to have se quality time just two of us booked on line payed over the phone ok no probs checked in found out there was a wedding on and wasn't able to eat unless we ate before 6pm and girlfriend didn't finish work till 5.45pm wasn't told of the wedding when booked on net or when rang up and so we went up chesterfield up the road had a meal at a time we wanted and in peace faultless and when we got back to Stanhope hotel we went to bar and got some drinks to take to our room no probs and then it all started on way up to room young teenage girls running up and down stairs fr the wedding and shouting and screaming slamming of doors in room 15 and in the coridoors outside our room a right up till 1.30am staff never even told then to stop and was like a big play house for kids to mess about in so of you want a rest in peace either phone and ask if they have a function on or better still stay away staff didn't care just said we had one complaint here's your money back sorry good bye my eyes to little to late and definitely not good enough excuse to resolve problem should have been delt with from the start ie keeps the hotel a hotel not a play area for kids to run about and slam doors till early hours of morning and sort things out like parents look after your kids instead of getting plastered have a responsibility when doing so

I'm a regular business traveller who just wants a clean room and some peace and quiet when I go back to the hotel after work and unfortuately, the Premier Inn failed to provide this during my week's stay.
As soon as I got into my room after checking in, I felt sick because the room had a horrible smell - it wasn't the smell of smoking like some other reviewers suggested but more of a urine/old peoples home type of smell. There were a few of us staying at the hotel in different rooms and the other rooms had the same issue.
The walls also seem to be paper thin as there were kids on the same floor and all I could hear during the night was crying and in the morning, kids running around making a racket.
The 30 minutes free wifi was non existent since that's the length of time it takes to connect to the internet. I eventually gave in and paid for a day's wifi, but ended up being charged for two days worth because the transaction was made over such a bad connection. Even having paid for the service, it was still incredibility slow and look about five minutes to load a page. Logging in to the wifi is also an issue, once you enter your username and password, it keeps displaying a technical error message and advises you to close down the browser and restart the computer. THIS DOESN't WORK. The only get around I've found is to click the forgotten password link and login that way, but even so, it takes several attempts.
Another problem is the breakfast, leave plenty of time because it does take around 30 to 40 minutes between sitting down and getting your cooked breakfast.
This is a bad hotel and I wouldn't stay here again if I could help it.

Room Tip: Don't bother purchasing wifi, if you have a dongle or 3G connection on your phone, that will be...

We often visit this area as we have family here. Staff were friendly & helpful.
Our room was spacious but smelt, it was clear someone had been smoking in the bathroom as the smell was very strong. I mentioned it to reception and it was played down & even laughed at which I found surprising. Someone looked for air freshener, couldn't find it, so nothing was done about the smell. I ended up spraying my body spray around to try and get rid of the smell of smoke!
The room was clean like all Premier Inn's are, but we overlooked the very busy main road. It was hot during the night but couldn't open the window due to the noise outside. Please be aware the hotel is situated next to a busy main road.
Breakfast (in the adjoining pub) was the worst we have had at a Premier Inn, and we have stayed at many! Short staffed, the fruit salad was starting to go 'off' as it had that fizzy flavour to it. Water was served from 2 flasks and was tepid. We asked for hot water and was given an explanation that someone had forgotten to turn on the boiler in the morning! We were unable to have tea or coffee. My daughter order a cooked breakfast with scrambled eggs and what arrived was clearly chopped up fried eggs! You could see the separate white & yellow of the egg and they tasted of fat. It really was a very disappointing breakfast, the worst we've had at a Premier Inn.
We wouldn't come back to this Premier Inn - we have found other Premier Inn's in the area that offer better value for money....

The hotel is on a busy main road with a slightly limited car park but has additional parking opposite. Once inside though the welcome is friendly and the staff very helpful. We stayed with a 7 month old baby and we're delighted with the travel cot provided. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The restaurant attached was cosy and family friendly. I'm really quite fussy but thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel!

It was our first stand in UK and caused us big troubles. We were there for the business trip and spent 3 nights. We paid ahead for 2 rooms for 3 nights and for 1 more room for the last night (because one guy was snoring). In fact no one gave us a key and he didn't stay alone there. It was a big mess after with payment. I asked to fix the receipts and refund our money. We didn't have our money back and they gave us the receipts with many mistakes. So it's better not to pay there ahead. If you're foreigner you could have problems there, because they'll try to make a fool from you. Everytime you need to talk to different people and explain the same thing. Waste of money - this is my review.
But at the forth night we stayed at the hotel in London and people there were more attenitive for my requests.

We stayed here for 2 nights for my niece's wedding and to be honest having stayed at a Premier Inn in Frome in June we were a little concerned. We need not have been. This hotel was spotless the staff were fantastic (a special thankyou to Sarah on reception) and the food in the adjoining pub was very tasty,

We had a family room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road which was quite noisy but didn't really bother us. I did have a problem with the matress which seemed to be very hard but Sarah got this sorted and our second night was very comfy and we all slept well. I really would recommend this hotel. WELL DONE PREMIER INN and THANKYOU.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

We had a family room to the rear of the hotel (which slept 4 in a double and 2 single beds), the room was spacious and very clean. The hotel staff were brilliant, we saw several receptionists over the course of the weekend and they were all really friendly, polite and very efficient, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast (served in the pub next door) is plentiful and good value. All in all a great option if you are looking for a decent hotel on a budget.
