we were booked into this hotel by my husband's employer, it was a clean large comfortable room at the back of the Hotel, no traffic noise could be heard so we had a good nights sleep, the reception staff were very helpful and gave us extra towels and extra milk. Breakfast was in the adjoining Table Table and was very good with hot food cooked to order, the food was very nice and the staff most helpful. Although the building is quite old the restaurant was nicely furnished and had modern decor, a pleasant stay

Room Tip: a room at the back away from the road

It's short drive to Burton upon Trent, but well worth staying here for the comfort and very good service. Food at the Pub next door is good too.
As with most hotels, breakfast is too expensive and they should offer a "Coffee/Tea and Toast" option as many people don't want a large breakfast.

This is an excellent Premier Inn with very courteous and helpful staff in both the Inn and the Restaurant. I remember the Stanhope Arms from the 1970s when it was the best place to stay in the area and when you had to book weeks in advance for a table in the restaurant. Inside it has compleely changed and it is a lot easier now to get a table without booking but the warmth and efficiency of the Staff is still excellent.

We stayed in this hotel for a couple of nights during half term and it was great. We were a family of 4 with children aged 7 and 2 and I must say the room we were given (room 9) was the biggest I've seen for a premier inn. It was so spacious, the children could play and run up and down without even going near the beds. They loved it and so did us parents!

I must say a special thank you to the receptionist (sorry I didn't get the name) who was very friendly on check in and during our stay. I don't think she ever slept because she seemed to be on duty at night and then again when we checked out and also throughout our stay!

The only slight niggle is that the hotel is on a main road and the traffic was quite constant even late on at night. I sleep really easily as do the children but my wife doesn't and this affected the quality of her sleep as you could hear the traffic quite clearly.

We ate at the restaurant and the service was very good with staff being very friendly and efficient.

All in all, a great stay and I can thoroughly recommend this hotel for the service.....pity it's on a main road but not much can be done about that!
