While visiting Rudyard Lake and the surrounding area we called in for the lunch-time carvery. I could only say that it was reasonable, both in price and in quality. The meat was decent, but we had to queue up to be served it. The vegetables were very variable some overcooked and some undercooked. Service was not bad, but a bit slow.

We had booked our wedding a while ago and were concerned that the hotel had gone into Receivership at the end of July 2014. Our concerns were unnecessary - the day was amazing.

Our ceremony and evening reception were at the hotel and the new Manager was the most helpful and organised chap and the staff couldn't do enough to help.
The main hall was dressed well for our ceremony and the Manager helped guide us through the proceedings. He actually helped us more than the Registrar.

We had photo's on the lawn and it was a fabulous backdrop for our photo's. We all walked to the Lake and had a boat trip around Rudyard Lake with a cheeky Prosecco and more photo's.

We did run over with time but the Manager helped round up our Guests for the Wedding Breakfast. The Hall was set up exactly how I requested and the food was lovely. We were served quickly and we had a choice of 3 deserts (some of my greedy guests had 3 puddings they were so nice!). If I have any criticism - there was enough food for double the amount of people.

We stayed in the Bridal suite which was a lovely room with a jacuzzi, big comfy bed and an amazing view to the lake. The main hotel and bar area is quite old school but has charm! M|ost of the bedrooms have been updated. All of our guests were happy with their rooms and they were reasonably priced.

The staff were polite and worked hard to please our guests. no-one had to wait and we were short of nothing.

Our day exceeded expectations and I'm sad that it went so quick but we will definitely go back for the amazing carvery.

I recently attended a wedding reception here and although the hotel is a bit dated decor wise the staff and the food were excellent, nothing was too much trouble for them and the portions were generous...the rooms are adequate in as much as the bed was very comfortable , the shower in the en suite was in need of some TLC but everywhere was clean and plenty of room

Have not been to the Hotel Rudyard for a while so while in the area decided to go for a carvery. The carvery itself as always was really nice, Tasty fresh meat and veg and very reasonable in price. However the staff really let the place down. Had to wait ages for someone to come and serve us at the bar and when they did they appeared disinterested. We then had to wait ages for someone to serve us at the carvery despite several staff seeing us waiting. As it was such a nice day we decided to sit outside. What a mess the smoking area was, Filthy tables, ashtrays piled high, dishes everywhere as well as litter all over the grass. It would just take ten minutes for staff to check and clean the area and the place was far from busy. It's s areal shame as the hotel has had some money spent on it recently but it really lacks something on the side of service and customer focus. The carvery was worth it but I would really question going again after such a very average experience that could be so much better. the hotel is in beautiful setting and a little care and attention o detail could really make such a difference.

Arrived at the Rudyard Hotel on a Friday evening went into the restaurant and had a carvery was very nice. Then had a drink and sat in the gardens lovely setting. Room was very nice comfortable bed. We only had a situation on the Saturday night Sunday morning a couple of youngsters had to many friks and they were arguing which woke us up but the police were called the next morning we went down for breakfast which was lovely my partner complained about the lack of sleep we had and the staff were brilliant they just charged us for 1 night instead of 2. Lovely location so all in all Dr nice:)
