We were recommended to try this place and now wish we hadn't. Ordering of every course meant a separate trek to the bar to pay. Having decided to have a starter our order included Thai fishcakes, 'sorry we don't do those anymore' . Is everything else available? 'Yes' What is the soup today? 'I don't know, I'll find out - there's none left' OK we'll have pate then. 'Sorry there is none left' Starters abandoned. As for the carvery, the meat was OK but everything else was overcooked with the veg being soggy and tasteless. Altogether an experience to forget and not to be repeated. I suppose the price tag of £4.95 says it all.

Nice carvery now £4.95 BUT here comes the sting £2.80 for half a Pepsi , that makes it £5.60 per pint, ouch, have water instead and don't get ripped off. ( don't know if they charge for tap water ). Must agree bar staff are miserable.

if you are anywhere near the hotel rudyard near leek then its a must to call in for a carvery meal, friendly greeting as soon as you enter the hotel ,the bar is on the right as you walk through but you must go to the bar to pick your carvery ticket up with the carvery at £4.95 what better value is there, choice of meats usually beef pork or ham but as i went in december they had got turkey on. plus a good selection of well cooked vegetables [as usual] even if you have to queue at the carvery the young lady is excellent and gets you moving of quickly down the line after 1 pm is a better time to go although they are opened all day[check serving times]will certainly be returning
