This was a fantastic stay. Accommodation was superb and felt luxurious, it was very clean with everything that you would need for your stay thought of. The owners were very welcoming, made us feel at home. Allowed us to interact with the animals. Very good for dog owners, our two dogs loved the surrounding fields for walks. Excellent quick walk route upto the roaches, with tittesworth lake only 5 minute drive. Felt very secluded in the peaks, however a couple of excellent pub style restaurants within 5 mins, yet central Leek only 12-15 mins away for shops, more eating choice. Excellent stay, will go again.

“Perfect accommodation for our needs.”
Reviewed 8 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage which acted as an ideal base for our journeys in the area and our hosts were most helpful. The cottage layout and facilities were excellent and built to a high standard. The working farm environment contributed to our enjoyment and provided added stimulus for our dogs during their adventures in the fields. The nearby Pub served good food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere providing for a very enjoyable weeks holiday.

“Idyllic cottage in beautiful part of the country”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

What a lovely place to stay. My wife and I spent a weekend at this very well equipped and presented cottage which is a great base for exploring some gorgeous parts of the Peak District. The local pub, the Lazy Trout is well worth a visit and serves great food as well as local beers. We were made to feel very welcome by Gordon and Zenda and who even posted a shirt back to us that we forgot when we left - what service! We would love to return at some point for a longer stay if possible, thanks for a great stay.

“Charming and relaxing!”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We have just returned from a wonderful week's break in this charming holiday cottage. The facilities are excellent in the modern and comfortable cottage. (A dishwasher and washing machine made life easy travelling with our baby boy!) A beautiful, remote and rural setting yet still an easy drive to attractions and amenities in the Peak District. The owners are very friendly and helpful. A thoroughly enjoyed first family holiday.

“Outstanding”
Reviewed 26 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

If your looking for somewhere to unwind and getaway from it all then this is the place peaceful , outstanding views and clean. It really is set in a picturesque setting yet only a 15 minute drive to Leek and a 5 minute drive to the Roaches . The place is furnished to a high standard with all the mod cons including free WIFI . Slept well in the Queen Size bed and shower was powerful with plenty of hot water . You could cook a banquet in the well equipped kitchen or rustle up bacon and eggs . Coming back from a days hiking or sightseeing the lounge is comfortable with a firm comfortable sofa and large screen TV , dvd and stereo .The dog loved the grounds and had his own field to walk in and enclosed garden to the rear with lovely views . The owners made you feel welcome and on hand to answer any questions but where not intrusive and just let you get on with enjoying your stay . As a dog owner I have stayed in probably 30 or so places over the years that accept dogs and this has to be the best so far . A credit to the owners for accepting dogs and not letting standards drop by providing 4 star facilities and good quality furnishings and bedding.

“Wonderful cottage, great hosts and lovely location”

Have just returned from a week long stay at this lovely cottage.

The accommodation was of a high specification, to the point where my partner wondered if we could move in.

Under floor heating was a really nice feature as was having a dishwasher and washing machine in the property.

The views were lovely - the Roaches from the front of the property and green hills from the rear patio - which was a lovely place to sit with a glass of wine after a day of walking.

The Lazy Trout which is just over a mile away was a great place to eat, and there were numerous walks near by including the Roaches and Tittesworth Reservoir.

Zenda and Gordon, the hosts, are a great couple always willing to help and giving suggestions of walks and other local information.

We will definitely be returning.

“AMAZING, COZY COUNTRYSIDE GEM!”
Reviewed 7 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

We loved staying here! This little gem was recommended by a friend as we needed to stay somewhere close to Leek for a wedding. We hit gold with this place, it truly is a 5 star cozy rustic cottage set in the most beautiful surroundings.
Highlights for us included taking a lovely scenic walk along the roaches, great pub grub in Ye Olde Rock Inn and the little fluffy lambs that welcomed us everytime we came up the drive. Zenda was truly a great host, providing great recommendations and was really helpful before and during our stay.
It's a shame we were only here for a weekend, but we will certainly visit again in the future.
