We have just returned from our stay here for 2 nights. We stopped off here as a place to stay after visiting Alton Towers Theme Park. Having only paid £17 per person for 2 nights we were extremely anxious of the hotel. However as soon as we arrived we realised there was nothing to be worried about. The staff were extremely helpful and offered us help taking our stuff to the room. The room was very spacious with 2 double beds, a sofa, bathroom and tv. The facilities all seemed clean and everyone had a good nights sleep. I will definitely return to this Days Inn next time I return to Alton Towers.

Not really worth staying here for close proximity to Alton Towers, website says 25 minutes, its actually 49 minutes (with no traffic)

As far as rooms go, it was clean and comfy enough for one night.

Few restaurants / pubs 5 mins drive away (EG Brewers Fayre) - Not really much else I can say. Oh - service station does not sell wine, so bring some if you want drinks in the evening.

We booked the family room for 3 people, when we arrived we expected a double bed and sofa bed in the same room but were surprised to find a double bed, sofa and then a separate adjoining room containing a further 2 singles. We only paid £25 for the night so this was excellent value for the amount of space you got. Room was very clean and check-in staff were helpful.

The hotel could do with minor refurbishments (such as flooring in bathroom) but for an overnight stay is very satisfactory.

Room Tip: If travelling with more than 2 people definitely book the family room if available, cheaper than separate rooms and plenty of space

Stayed here for one night on the way to Alton Towers. Check-in was quick and easy. As soon as you go in though, the smell of the carpets etc hits you. Smelly feet smell and the carpets are so stained and dirty looking! The room itself was very dated and smelled as well. The spare beds for the children was an old-fashioned couch-bed instead of the couch with a pull-out bed underneath. It was VERY hard. The double bed was better, but was very pitchy and wallowy and you could feel the springs. Pillows were ok. The bathroom was VERY small, you couldn't close the bathroom door if you were sitting on the loo, or open it. The light shades were dusty and ripped and the curtains were PLASTIC that did not close all the way. We were woken up at dawn by the light, it was so bright. Plus side I guess would be that it was on the services, so there was a McDonalds/Costa/WHSmith there.

Room Tip: bring some air freshener/disinfectant spray

Stayed here for one night as had to book a room fast for a business trip,
its located on the motorway services, so food and facilities of service area avail 24 hrs
even though it was on the service area I got a good nights sleep
the rooms are a bit run down, not impressed with the TV or the clock radio
but acceptable paid £25 so cheep and cheerful

Room Tip: had a good nights sleep, good budget accommodation but disappointed with the TV as not a big flat screen
