“Just keep on driving past this one”
Reviewed 17 August 2014 via mobile

Just come back from a terrible meal at this establishment. Even though it was a busy pub, the food left a lot to be desired. Our waitress, Alex, was in all fairness quite good and attentive.
We ordered a sharing platter which we were still eating when the main meal was brought out to us. My husband had ordered the mixed grill and my son had the double steak burger, i opted for the salmon salad. We had asked for salt and vinegar as there were no condiments on the table and some English mustard. We still hadn't been served with any and our food was getting cold so my husband and son ate their meal without. My salmon salad was so drenched in dressing that it was wilting the lettuce and the whole thing became inedible. The salmon was also very over cooked.
Unfortunately, it seemed that this establishment was employing young people of which many were unaware of customer service or good food preparation in the kitchen.
This is not somewhere where I would ever step foot in again for something to eat.

“Couldn't be bothered. ”
Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

Writing this on behalf of my daughter and her friends. A group of girls (6 in total all aged 17) spent the day at Alton Towers and on travelling home decided to call in for some food. They were told by a member of staff that there were no tables and she left them to wait at the door. After waiting for about 15 mins they seated themselves as there were plenty of tables not reserved. They ordered the food straight away and after waiting an hour (with no warning of a waiting time) enquired as to where the food was. The waitress went into the kitchen and came out completely ignoring the girls and no update given. When the food eventually arrived two of the meals were cold but they ate them as they had waited so long and wanted to be back on the road back to Lincolnshire. No drinks were offered no sauces offered no check back on the meal. The girls left very disappointed and felt that because of their age they had been treated as second class citizens. Their money is as good as anyone's. !!

“Food ok, service not!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We visited here as a family of 5 (children aged 6, 3 and 3) on a Saturday at about 5pm. They weren't busy, although looked as if they had lots of bookings for later on that evening. We thought this could be good as they'd want to get us served and out before some of the bookings they had came in (they put us on a table which they had reserved for a group at 6.30pm). However, this wasn't the case. Our order was taken relatively quickly, but the food was very slow to come out - we didn't eat until almost 6pm. We wished to have dessert - again order taken quickly, but again quite a long wait for them to arrive. Other small issues with service such as not asked if we wanted sauces, not told our drinks were bottomless etc, also there was quite a bit of food/rubbish on the floor from previous diners. Food itself was fine and fairly good compared to some other similar places.

“"Staff too Young"”
Reviewed 27 July 2014 via mobile

Stopped as we passed, quality of the food is poor against cost, it's a £4.99 Sunday roast, not a £12.99.

Staff are very helpful; polite and attentive, but very inexperienced, the place needs a good general manager.

Crockery with old food stuck to it, undercooked beef, over cooked veg, powder mash and awful roast potatoes, obviously were not planning on coming back.

But good on the staff, they're lovely.

“Poor service”
Reviewed 25 July 2014

It's always a great shame that when you have a captive, travelling audience you fail to add value by providing a first rate customer care service. Sadly, this restaurant doesn't seem to indulge in making customers smile
