“Immaculate room”
Reviewed 16 September 2013

Room was very clean and tidy, plenty of space to put things, feel the room is on a par with some 3 star hotels in the city. Some staff members were friendlier than others but overall it was a great place to stay, we had a warm welcome when we arrived late on Friday 13th, we were in the building that contained the reception and for some reason it felt much quieter than the one attached to the pub/restaurant. Highly recommend staying there particularly if you are visiting Alton Towers which was 20 min's away.

Room Tip: remember to tell reception if you fail to get a good nights sleep at the time of the disturbance, if...

Very good service all round, it was ideal with large families, and very clean but dated hotel, I would recommend to others. staff could do with making a smile. the breakfast can do with offering more choice especially when travelling with large family and kids.

Great value, great room, great staff, great location ( for Alton Towers in our case ). Let down by 2 things that have been mentioned in other reviews.

The main one for me was the room temperature. We were in room 212. It wasn't a warm night outside but the thermostat readout in the room didn't drop below 25 degrees C all night. The window could only be opened about an inch, not enough to circulate any cooler air into the room even with the fan that was provided.

We ( 2 adults 2 kids ) had a really poor nights sleep and were knackered in the morning. Defeating the whole purpose of getting a place to say near Alton Towers so we didn't have to be up so early to get there.

The second was breakfast. This was in the pub adjoining the hotel. Staff again were great but the breakfast itself was poor. It was all vaguely edible with the exception of the veggie sausages that were certainly not cooked that morning and had been reheated to the extent where they contained no moisture at all.

Lots of flies around the coffee machine area, on the tea bags and the cups. It looks like the problem has been identified as there is an electric bug zapper on the wall next to the coffee machine. The flies seemed to prefer the coffee and tea. This was pretty gross first thing.

I really like premier inn and this wouldn't stop me going to another. The staff here were excellent so its a shame the stay wasn't as good as they were.

Hotel in great location for Alton towers, staff very pleasant especially Edward in the restaurant, the downsides were the bedroom smelled musty, and the bed was REALLY hard, which was a shame as otherwise every thing was good

Stayed here on Thursday 5th September overnight and headed to Alton Towers the next morning.

The hotel was of a nice standard and staff where polite.

I only have 2 things to pick at which is why I couldn't give them a 5* rating. Me and my sister stayed in room 17 which was nice and clean. However the person/persons staying upstairs came in at 1am and they had creaky floorboards which kept me awake and they woke up at 7am and moved around which woke us up. So I lost around 2 hours sleep that night. I have a 3 month old baby at home so many parents will understand the loss of them 2 hours. The lady at reception did say someone was coming to look at that problem so only time will tell.

The 2nd thing was in the restaurant at breakfast. I decided to have the grab and go deal which is a croissant and tea or coffee. When I went to get my coffee the drinks area had about 5 or 6 flys lingering about all over the coffee machine n a fizzy drinks machine. Thankfully they was not interested in the food area but still pretty disgusting.

Otherwise it was nice and would recommend.

hotel is weirdly split in two with the car park in between it but its not a issue unless there's a large group of you I guess, room was standard premier inn clean, comfy, basic we had been given a fan and even though it wasn't to hot outside we still had to use to cool the room down, there's a petrol station next door which lorry's seemed to love to use so it can be a bit noisy late at night but if like us you've been to Alton towers all day that wont bother you,the hotel had a chain restaurant attached to it which was pretty standard even though it was busy the staff still managed to get the food out quickly which was nice.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night on a recent visit to Alton Towers this was our second visit to the hotel.
We were located in a room in the new block close to reception, I could not fault the room it was spotless and had everything we would need for a comfortable stay, a fan was also provided but thankfully wasn't required.
The staff were all very efficient and friendly and have us a warm welcome, we ate breakfast in the restaurant which I think is over priced for what you get, on our next visit I think we would just pop to McDonald.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you plan to visit alton towers we will definitely be back in the future! :)
