This is a budget hotel which is ok for short stays.
The rooms are clean and the staff were ok.
However the room temp was extremely uncomfortable as there was no air conditioning and a supplied fan was filthy/full of dust. There is also some road noise from passing traffic but it is bearable.
The hotel is about a 15 - 20 minute drive to Alton Towers and a handy 2 minute drive into Uttoxeter town centre where ther are a few places to dine/eat. There is also a Starbucks, BK and Subway next door.

Premier Inn, you really do know what you are going to get, in regards to the rooms, I stay in so many its like a home from home. I never normally review them, because they are a chain, once you stayed in one you could be anywhere. It would be like reviewing MacDonalds! Anyway I thought I would review this one as the only real difference between one PI to another is the staff, and I thought the staff here needed a mention for being genuiely helpful and polite and a pleasant to deal with, right down to the "Take Care" as we left... well done team!

Room Tip: We had a room facing toward the car park and the wondow was open and the noise from the A50 was rela...

great little premier Inn. Usual excellent rooms and sleep quality and the restaurant here is well worth a trip to (private pub owned). the hotel is near a shopping complex with supermarkets, clothes/footwear etc as well as a great range of eateries if you dont' want to eat in the hotel or in Alton Towers itself. Its a short drive away on very good roads. A fraction of what you pay to stay in Alton .

Room Tip: away from lifts

Really nice staff, great dining experience but the room heat is quite simply unbearable! The room that we stayed in got no lower than 28 degrees with the window open. The outside temperature was only 21 degrees. The rooms have NO A/C and the hotel believe that the best option is an electric fan. But with the internal air being 28 degrees then this is only circulated not cooled down!

This Hotel is ideal for Alton Towers. The staff are friendly and the rooms were clean on arrival, and the welcome exceptional. There is no lift in the part of the hotel that we stayed in, which could cause issues for the elderly / disabled. We booked two rooms, both of which were next to each other, and very clean, with the restaurant just next door, which is ideal. There was a little noise at night from passing truckers.

I stayed here with my partner for 1 night which cost £81.00 and had dinner in the restaurant next door which was attached to the hotel building we stayed in. The hotel I will never fault as I love staying at premier inns however we didn't sleep a wink due to the restaurant staff being really loud below our window as their glass bottle bank and bins were directly below our open window so every time we shut our eyes there would be more noise. There were also lots of people walking past our room as they would walk through the corridor door which was directly outside our door so again when we tried to sleep it sounded like people were trying to swipe their key to get into our room so we were on edge all night. We mentioned this to the member of staff in the morning and no questions asked she offered us our money back and I had received this back within a free days. We were very grateful after all we paid £81.00 to sleep there and didn't end up sleeping at all so if you genuinely don't have a good night they are very willing to assist with their guarantee. Won't fault premier inn just the ignorant human beings that were there the same night we were and the restaurant staff which was nothing to do with the hotel as a company. Will stay there again regardless but will be sure not yo get that room again.

To start most of the hotel was as you would expect from Premier Inn. It was decent enough although some areas were obviously showing their age. There was no noise from the road so the glazing did its stuff but the plumbing harked back to Victorian times and every time someone turned on a tap or shower it was like a pneumatic drill! This may have been the location of our room and it is principally what I have complaints about. Room 216 is one to avoid. The room was very tired looking and the fitments in the bathroom were mismatched. The tiles were mouldy with the grout black at some points. There was black ingrained dirt around all the taps the waste drains and even the grab handles of the bath. Now this could very well be just needing a good scrub and clean but there is obviously no quality control. The taps were loose and the chrome was worn away to show the plastic underneath.
The cleaning was dreadful. We had just been to a Premier Inn at Tamworth and the rooms were spotless every day with the cleaner even arranging my children's soft toys nicely on the bed but here it was barely cursory. The bedding was just straightened with no real finesse and my children's beds didn't even have the under sheets straightened. The day after we arrived I had to complain that the bins had not been emptied and one of the beds not touched at all and the bathroom washbasin was not cleaned. The reception staff promised to look at this and when we came back the duvet had been straightened( but not the undersheet) the bins had been emptied but the washbasin was still not cleaned. It could be that the cleaners were more interested in having a cigarette outside the fire escape door beside our room which we also observed.
Altogether not a pleasant experience even though it's location so close to Alton Towers means it can command a higher price than other much much better Premier Inns I have stayed in.
I would only stay here again if I had no other choice.

Room Tip: Avoid room 216 unless it has been refurbished and ground floor rooms are extremely noisy from heavy...
