“Great hotel for legoland”
Reviewed 24 August 2014 via mobile

We Stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 4 and have to stay it was a great hotel for legoland. Which is about 20mins away. Hotel was very clean and modern. We had a warm welcome too. We had a room on first floor at the back of the hotel so it was nice and quiet (could hear the odd train every now and then. It didn't bother us!) There is limited car parking spaces but we managed to get a space both nights. There's plenty of shops and places to eat around too. We'd definitely stay again!

Stayed here with three teenagers who went to Thorpe Park (about 15/20 mins drive). Good shopping across the road. Large comfortable room for 4, very clean. Really enjoyed our stay. Pleasant staff too.

Excellent hotel. Ideal position for local shopping. Very clean & tidy room.
Be prepared to argue your case if they phone you to try & get you to re-locate to another Travelodge as they quite often overbook!!!

Came back for the second time as visited Ascot and once again exceptional service from Tina, who remembered us from last time. This lady deserves a pay rise or promotion nothing is too much trouble. Room was clean and comfy and family room was big enough for four people. My only gripe and I mentioned this last year the room was far too hot but we were given a fan and there was water in desk at reception which was very welcome.

Again hassle free to get to ascot and back with train station right next door. Looking forward to our visit next year when we return to ascot.

We stayed here for one night on 7th August. Hotel was actually difficult to spot as the signage was quite a way up the side of the hotel and the ground floor units were all marked to let so we had no idea that this was the hotel at all! Luckily, we eventually spotted the signage so all was well. The welcome was friendly as expected and the room was good. Our only grip us that for a new hotel there is no air conditioning. We were able to have a fan but as we had to gave this running all night to keep cool it did not lend itself to a restful nights sleep. All in all the stay was what we expected.

Stayed back in July for a couple of day, first impressions were not really that good the entrance stinks and is covered in bird droppings. It was a hot couple of days so no aircon was a pain the XXXX. the first night i didnt know what was worse the lack of aircon or the noise from the main road, so try get a room at the back..
On saying that the rooms were clean and large enough, with quite possible the smallest kettle i have ever seen.
Breakfast was average, but sufficient. WIFI was ok, average hotel speed (poor). The staff were nice, friendly and were very pleasurable to deal with..
all in all .. not a bad place to

I have not used Travelodge for a couple of years and found it vastly improved.
The rooms are fresh and airy with the beds and bedding also fresh and comfortable.
The room serves the needs of a quick stay which was our purpose.
The hanging space is an open hanging unit and there is one desk. Lack of side tables to the bed is a bit of a nuisance - all you get is a little cubby hole big enough to take a cup on either side of the bed!
TV is ok with good sound levels - I have hearing problems and hate it when hotels restrict the sound levels on their TV's - not here though - very good!
The bathroom is a typical hotel bathroom and was clean and well maintained. The shower is a cubicle with a fixed head but moveable shower head. Water temperature is very good.
My complaint is the shower curtain. As in many hotels the curtain is too short and not weighted at the bottom. The result is that the whilst having a shower you can too easily knock the shower curtain out of the shower cubicle - and as in my case - end up flooding the bathroom floor. Not good! Why hotels cannot weight curtains with magnetic disks and have a strip of metal at the shower cubicle edge to at least keep the curtain in the shower is a mystery to me!
There is no parking at this hotel, however there is a large multi story car park over the road which is well lit and seems to be quite secure. the cost of £1.50 for parking between 6.30pm and 6.30am is excellent. The total cost of parking from 8pm until 10.30am was £3.50.
More seriously I was concerned at the security at the hotel. The Reception is on the first floor and security is good up to that point having entered the building via automatic doors which from evening onwards require your door key to get in . The doors from the first floor reception into the corridor of bedrooms was also supposed to be operated via the door key but for the whole time we were there the lock was inoperative and anyone could walk through it into the bedroom corridor. This allows access to the corridor of bedrooms which although having their own door locks does mean that someone could leave a bedroom and be met by someone who was not a guest which could compromise personal safety.
A very nice hotel extremely close top the town centre and in a very quiet area. Apart from the problems with the shower and the door lock safety issue - both of which I am sure could easily rectified I would highly recommend this hotel.
