Stopped here day before we flew to Egypt, as well as night after we landed back. First stay had decent first floor room. Neat and tidy, clean laundry and bathroom. For price we paid, was happy. One problem, two heavy suitcases to take upstairs, no lift.
However, on way back got to hotel late. Arrived at reception to hear someone complaining about cold room. Got to our room , again upstairs, then down a second set of steps. Room was freezing. Room was grotty. Ensuite was so small, I could sit on the loo, and the shower was tiny and filthy. Complained and got triple room, which was again neat and tidy. Had breakfast next day £9.50 each, plenty to eat, and nice start to day.
Overall, if you can put up with one night at the hotel, it's a cheap option. Will probably avoid next time if can find alternative close to Airparks.

Stayed as park and fly having been some times in the past, the room was very dated and needed some TLC urgently, especially the bath, you had to be a midget to use the shower! beds were rock hard and only one pillow.

Restuarnat was ok plenty on offer with free shower included! the roof was leaking! on closer inspection you could see where it had several times before

all in all ok but think we would try some where different next time with better facilities

We stayed here the night before an early morning flight from Gatwick. Our initial impressions were good, although there were cars everywhere (our deal had us parking at Airparks down the road, so luckily we were in the short stay car park right next to the main building). The building was imposing, and the hallway was very nicely decorated in quite an old-fashioned style. The receptionist George was pleasant & helpful. We had a first floor room, and got up the stairs without an issue - I don't believe there's an lift though which may affect some with mobility issues. Our room was rather small but clean enough. A down point for us was that there was just one plug in the room, so we couldn't both charge our phones (not a huge issue by all means but we'd expect at least two). The beds felt tough initially, but we both slept pretty well - the noise from passing planes didn't seem too bad either, it seemed to stop around 9-10pm and not resume until 7am the next morning. We didn’t have any issues with the fire alarm going off as mentioned in other reviews. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on this. If their offerings are not to your taste there's the Greyhound pub a mile or two down the road for cheap pub grub. For the price we paid with parking included, our room was adequate & decent enough for a one night stay, and we'd stay here again before any early-morning flights.

Stayed here in between late and early flights, so I wanted to pay as little as possible. For the price (I paid £27) it was OK, but it is still a very poor hotel. To start, there was no information available about the shuttle bus details, so I had to call and speak to several people before I could find out how it worked. I was given a room on the first floor but when I got to it there was a do not disturb sign on the door and I could here the TV on in the room. I pointed this out to a surprised receptionist who then gave me keys to a room which was empty. The room and the hotel in general was very tired looking and does not look like it has been decorated since the 70s. It was clean however, so I have no complaints on that front. At some point in the night I was woken by someone speaking as though they were next to me - I'm not sure if they were in the corridor or the room next door, but it certainly made me jump. Would I stay here again? Probably not, as I would rather pay a bit more for a more modern, standard budget hotel.

Stayed here with National holidays for a short break. Hotel room small but clean, could hear everything that happened in adjoining rooms (mostly arguing!). The worse thing about our stay where chaotic dining arrangements. We where moved from table to table for no reason, shouted at by rude staff when someone had sat in our seat and if you are unlucky enough to have a later dinner or breakfast serving there may be very little left for you to eat! In short this is more Motel than Hotel, a single night before you fly from Gatwick would be ok but don't come here for a relaxing break! Oh and as mentioned in other reviews, the fire alarm went off at 4:30 am.

We had two nights and one day to spend in the UK before flying out of Gatwick airport and wanted to spend our day in London. The Russ Hill Hotel turned out to be the perfect choice for our needs. The price is very reasonable. There is somewhere to park your car. They have food and a bar onsite. The rooms were comfortable. (Our first night was noisy but the second night was silent - guess this depends on who else is staying at the hotel and their time of arrival). The best part was we were able to drive to Gatwick, park the car for the day in the long term car park for just 12pounds (prebooked on line), and travel to London on a day pass for ten pounds each provided we left after 9.30am.(we got a group discount as there were 3 of us). We could return at any time and the pass covered the rail into London plus all metros and buses in London. So much cheaper than booking a London Hotel! There is also wifi available in common areas of the hotel which was a nice surprise as we had thought there was none available.

Room Tip: You can ask for rooms on the ground floor if you have difficulty with stairs but rooms on the upper...
