OK, but could have been so much better. In a nice setting with friendly staff. Some really interesting local history items. Aimed at children (which is fine) but most of the items have nothing to do with Croydon and are just a collection of random donated memorabilia. The worst examples include LGBT propaganda, snide remarks about 'Janet and John' children's books - of course they are white middle class - all children's books were like that in the 1950s get over it!
Oh and the two dolls someone or other used in the 1980s for teaching diversity or some such. The description notes that the (cheap) black doll is not so well made as the white Sindy/Barbie doll - honestly - patronising rubbish!
OK for a wet afternoon, but put your PC adjusting glasses on!
Local government at its best and worst.
