So we went there as my daughter was overdue and we thought we would try the age old tradition.!! What can I say.. Great food great price.. Taste card friendly.. And best of all for me great service.. Don't hesitate if you are contemplating going.. Vindaloo is hot but very tasty.. madras not as hot but still tasty korma absolutely superb.. (wife is fussy but loved it) the tikka masala (I wasn't 100 sure about tbh but rest of the party enjoyed it..) chutney tray that came with the poppies could of had a little more selection. However all things factered in superb.. Can't wait to go back and nor can rest of the party.. We were talking about how nice it was for a week after and we eat out far more often than we should.. Tried to attach a pic but 5mb max size so can't.. Only advice.. If big eaters get a third dish to share or have a starter. I'm a porker and no starter and great taste meant I was mopping the dishes dry with my nan..

My go to curry house since 2012. I've experimented with many other local curry houses but no other have matched the beautiful aromatic smell and taste of the Amera Rani.

Definitely recommend the Chicken Malabar and Lamb Bhuna. Many of the starters are also delicious.

Aziz (apologies if mis-spelt) is a great host and will truly look after you.

Get down to the Amera Rani!

As I am pregnant I asked very clearly not to have any raw herbs or raw vegetables with my dishes as it is not advised in pregnancy.
They brought the starters and they had herbs on top so I politely said that I couldn't eat it and please to bring it back without herbs. After less than 5 min the waiter came back and I could still clearly see parsley on the onion baji. They clearly tried to scrape it away.when I conplained again the waiter was very dismissive
We left straight away and they even made us pay for our drinks.
I was very upset as it's not me being fussy with my food but simply trying to be protective of my child.
Never again

Dear FlorenceAntonio

Thank you for your TripAdvisor review. We were surprised to read this and immediately investigated the matter as we do care about our customers' dining experiences.

The staff members who attended your table were spoken to and expressed that you did not want any herbs on your starter. They fulfilled the request by removing the herbs. They returned with the starter only to be informed there were still herbs visibly present. The staff member
attempted to explain that the remaining herbs were the ingredients used in its cooking preparation and in fact, those herbs were cooked - the staff member felt that there may have been a miscommunication in their explanation. They offered you alternative starters and suggested to prepare the starter without the herbs, they also informed you this would take longer due to the busy evening. They felt you could not wait at which moment, your partner approached the bar staff with the payment for your drinks.

We do sincerely apologise as we value our customers and their feedbacks. We would like to ensure that all our customers are looked after and any requests for dietary requirements, were possible, are met.

We are here to assist and do hope you give us the opportunity again by contacting us with your dietary request.

From everyone at Amera Rani, all the very best with the pregnancy. Hope to see you again.

With best regards

Aziz

We booked a table for four people at 7.30pm on a Saturday night. When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly busy with a delightful aroma of Indian cuisine and the staff were very welcoming and efficient.

We ordered two baskets of poppadoms which were served with four accompanying sauces, followed by two chicken tikka masala, a chicken jalfrezi and a chicken tikka main course. We ordered pilau rice and special fried rice as well as naans and onion bhajis. The food was very tasty, well presented with adequate sized portions and everyone in our party enjoyed their meal very much.

We thought it was good value for money, particularly with the use of a Tastecard on a Saturday night, but please note that the cost of the drinks, poppadoms and desserts are not included in the Tastecard 50% discount.

The restaurant is on the small side so I would recommend that you book in advance and allow yourself enough time to find a parking space as the restaurant is on the busy Brighton Road. We would certainly recommend this restaurant to friends and family and we look forward to our next visit.
