“Brilliant Location and Very Clean”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2014

We stayed here for a one night stay whilst attending a social event nearby.
The Hotel is perfectly situated for East Croydon station being a very short walk away and also the Croydon shopping in the 'Whitgift Centre which is also very close. The area is not too busy traffic wise and there are no local bars and pubs to keep you awake at night. If you are travelling by car, there is car parking at a large multi storey car park across the road and your hotel stay entitles you to a discount on the parking charge. Note that the car park adjacent to the hotel belongs to an adjacent office block.
The hotel is fairly new, and so very clean and in a good state of repair. Unusually, the reception area is located on the first floor, with the bedrooms on the floors above, The lift to the upper floors (i.e. from the reception up), can only be used if one of the occupants are in possession of a hotel door card giving a sense of security if you are using the rooms here.
The rooms in common with most Premier Inn hotels, are very clean and functional and also spacious. We had a double room, but it was also equipped with a sofa bed as well. The room was air conditioned which was just as well as you cannot open the windows,
The room was equipped with a flat screen TV and also tea and coffee making facilities (two of each), though we did not use these. The shower on full blast could pin you to the opposite wall!
We had booked a full English breakfast in the morning, and found the restaurant to be equally as clean and in good condition to the rest of the building.
We were shown to our seats by a very friendly and efficient waitress and advised how to use the self service hot drinks machines and breakfast buffet. Breakfast is eat as much as you need so should suit all appetites. As well as the traditional English breakfast, there was fruit, yoghurt and cereal options.
Although the breakfast was very good (and welcomed) one small disappointment was that it was not very hot and so cooled quickly on the plate.
Would definitely use this hotel again if the need arose.
I would recommend this hotel to visitors to Croydon arriving or departing by rail due to its proximity to East Croydon station. Otherwise if you are looking for a convenient stop over hotel in the Croydon area, you could probably do worse that use the Premier Inn!

Room Tip: Floor six has the quietest rooms, but the double glazing keeps most noise out.

Very easy to book and to our requirements as we needed a family room and disability access. Every person that worked there was friendly and welcoming, each of them saying morning or hello and asked if everything was ok.. The room was comfortable and clean, and had what we needed for our weekend. Breakfast enjoyable, and most of all freshly cooked... Total recommend this hotel. Well done every one thats works there.

We have stayed at a number of Premier Inns now and the East Croydon is just as good. Great location minutes from East Croydon train station and also only a five minute walk to the main shopping area. The staff were as always with Premier very friendly and helpful particularly those working in reception and the restaurant at breakfast. Our room a standard double was spotless and well maintained. Overall the standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel was excellent. The only negative comment I would make was that the seating area in the restaurant for breakfast was cramped.

We went as a couple and used Croydon as a base to visit family members in Sussex and London. We had a disability friendly room which was extra large with a wet room. Everything was spotless and there was plenty of room for wheelchair if required. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. 30 minutes of WIFI was included and children stayed and ate free of charge which must be great for families. Our only criticism was that the windows are locked for safety reasons (we were on the 6th floor) and the air conditioning could not be turned lower than 19 so we were extremely hot, even in the night. Admittedly we were visiting during the hottest week of the year! Other than this, no complaints.

Room Tip: Disability rooms are available with lower beds and wetrooms.

I've never stayed at a Premier Inn where I've been dissatisfied. Sometimes a little more pricey than Travelodge but most of the time worth it.
Absolutely no issues with the hotel at all. It's worth noting that the room was one of the smallest I've ever stayed in at Premier Inn but it didn't bother me. Very clean, a great night's sleep.
Breakfast the next morning was a great standard. As much as you can eat, full english breakfast. Fresh food brought out regularly and no standing around waiting. Nice service from the staff.
My only small problem visiting here was other guests. Lots of young people using the hotel as a base after a night out. They checked into the hotel, got ready at the hotel and basically treated the place like student halls, running in and out of each others rooms, getting it on in the corridors, and shouting and screaming at each other, the whole time with a bottle of wine in their hand.

Hotel is in a very good location with the train station being a 2 minute walk away. Regular train service into Central London only taking 15 - 20 minutes. You will never find a hotel as clean as this one as it was sparkling and the rooms get maintained everyday. The beds are so comfy you don't want to move from them and there is never any outside noise. Definitely recommend anyone visiting London to stay in this hotel as it also a much cheaper option but still has that high quality!
