We stayed here for a one night stay whilst attending a social event nearby.
The Hotel is perfectly situated for East Croydon station being a very short walk away and also the Croydon shopping in the 'Whitgift Centre which is also very close. The area is not too busy traffic wise and there are no local bars and pubs to keep you awake at night. If you are travelling by car, there is car parking at a large multi storey car park across the road and your hotel stay entitles you to a discount on the parking charge. Note that the car park adjacent to the hotel belongs to an adjacent office block.
The hotel is fairly new, and so very clean and in a good state of repair. Unusually, the reception area is located on the first floor, with the bedrooms on the floors above, The lift to the upper floors (i.e. from the reception up), can only be used if one of the occupants are in possession of a hotel door card giving a sense of security if you are using the rooms here.
The rooms in common with most Premier Inn hotels, are very clean and functional and also spacious. We had a double room, but it was also equipped with a sofa bed as well. The room was air conditioned which was just as well as you cannot open the windows,
The room was equipped with a flat screen TV and also tea and coffee making facilities (two of each), though we did not use these. The shower on full blast could pin you to the opposite wall!
We had booked a full English breakfast in the morning, and found the restaurant to be equally as clean and in good condition to the rest of the building.
We were shown to our seats by a very friendly and efficient waitress and advised how to use the self service hot drinks machines and breakfast buffet. Breakfast is eat as much as you need so should suit all appetites. As well as the traditional English breakfast, there was fruit, yoghurt and cereal options.
Although the breakfast was very good (and welcomed) one small disappointment was that it was not very hot and so cooled quickly on the plate.
Would definitely use this hotel again if the need arose.
I would recommend this hotel to visitors to Croydon arriving or departing by rail due to its proximity to East Croydon station. Otherwise if you are looking for a convenient stop over hotel in the Croydon area, you could probably do worse that use the Premier Inn!
