“Disappointing”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

Had very high hopes for this place as it was rated Number 5 for local restaurants on TripAdvisor. Perhaps the fact that the burrito snack van in Epsom marketplace is ranked number 4 should have been a warning . The restaurant itself was stuffy and airless with music being pumped out far too loud from the speakers – as it was a warm day we considered sitting outside, but the garden area looked like a pub beer garden rather than restaurant and didn’t appeal to us whatsoever. Service was slightly clumsy, despite the restaurant being very quiet. Food was farily decent but over-salted and amounts to pretty standard Italian ‘pizza and pasta’ fare. We opted mostly for seafood options, which tasted fresh. The toilets were terrible. The gents had two sinks - one had no working tap and on the other the tap wasn't actually over the sink itself, so spilled water everywhere. The ultimate insult though was being overcharged by 25%. Fortunately I spotted the error and queried it with the staff who corrected the bill. Overall a disappointing experience – we will not be returning.

“Classy at a good price ”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

This place is my favourite Italian reastrant in the area the food is gorgeous!!! We like to come on a Weekend but it's in high demand as it's always busy. They have lovely beer garden to sit and wait for a table witch is nice. The staff are very polite & welcoming. The only criticism I do have is on arrival there isn't always someone free straight away to welcome you in. This place is too all ages witch is lovely. They have a wide range of foods to choose from also a set menu is great value for money. Worth visiting you won't be disappointed!!!!

“Great food at a great price!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Going to the Races at Epsom to celebrate my sister's birthday so booked this restaurant for lunch with other family members. I had pre ordered some prosecco and it was waiting on the table on our arrival. Delightful, attentive staff. Efficient, speedy service but, most importantly, one of the nicest Italian meals I've had in a long time. We all ordered off the set lunch menu which offered a very good selection. Food was really delicious and we all had a great meal. Great value and would highly recommend!

“Great value, Service and proper food!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

My fiancé and i had a lovely 3 course meal here recently and am pleased to say it lived up to its reputation of great, real food. It felt totally authentic and all of our courses were lvoely - no fuss, but great flavours and also great service. Highly recommend the olives as an extra before starter as we never knew olives could be so delicious!! We will definitely be back, it was great value for money too as its not exactly bank-breaking!

“The village Italian - reliably and consistently marvellous”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Every Surrey village has one. Ewell used to have several. And now we have three, two of which are terrible, and the Neapolitan Kitchen, which is very good indeed! It sounds like 'damning with faint praise' to say that the NK simply does what one expects a good Italian to do. But that's it's secret. A menu packed with comfort food favourites, a wine list that's priced to encourage you to order that second bottle without taking out a second mortgage, and very friendly and professional service. The two competitor Italian restaurants in Ewell Village fail to deliver on most, if not all of those counts, which is why the locals keep coming back to what we still call 'The King Bill' (after the pub that used to be here several centuries ago!) Worth noting that if you're planning a function, the Neapolitan Kitchen is also a very good choice. We've been here for romantic dinners à deux, for lunches with half a dozen friends and for a couple of massive beanos where we've taken over the place... and the standards of cuisine and service don't falter. If you haven't been here, find an excuse not to cook tonight and give it a go - it's not expensive and it really IS very very good indeed! Long may you continue as the 'the village Italian'!
