Having just seen the exceedingly average 'Hercules' film at the local cinema, my wife and I were in need of a better than average supper - and we found it at this fine Spanish restaurant. There's dining competition in the Village, and I guess they all spur each other on to the diner's delight. We were impressed with the staff and decor/ambience at La Familia which claims to offer 'modern' Spanish cuisine. We didn't see anything particularly 'modern' on their menu, which was a mix of traditional tapas dishes and some obvious 'regulation' dinner plates. We chose Spanish ham with honey figs as a starter, followed by Dover sole (served off the bone to our request) accompanied by potatoes, broccoli and carrots. All very nice without being spectacularly so. One glass of Sauvignon Blanc - Spanish version - which was good, and our bill was £70, inc. 10% service charge. A nice touch is their loyalty scheme: on your 3rd visit you get 10% off your bill! and 25% off after your 6th visit. Service was good, and we will try La Familia for lunch sometime soon.
