“Very pleasant - good location”
Reviewed 26 February 2013 via mobile

Pleasant hotel in a good central location. In need of updating which it is about to undergo to. No parking but reasonably priced parking about quarter of a mile away. Not amazing but I was working in the area and it was very suitable.

We stayed overnight whilst attending a wedding elswhere. The hosts were very helpful and frendly - the room which was at the back on the 1st floor overlooking the garden was of a good size and comfortable. The owners are aware that the hotel needs a bit of a makeover but it represents good value for money

I booked this hotel because I was attending a function on a Sunday at one of the other hotels in Farnham. The other hotel wanted to charge me £95 for a single room, room only, Bishops Table was a much better price
Staff were very helpfull, breakfast next day was good and also in walking distance back to Farnham Station
For single room, good size bedroom and bathroom, very comfortable
Thank you

I stayed at Bishops Table during my business trip in begining of October. Location of the hotel is central on the main shopping street but it doesn't help as all shops are closed already at 17.30 :) Hotel is also only 15 min walking distance from central train station. Interior very simple and hotel definitely need renovation but at the same time overall it was very English and you can feel real England atmosphere there. The one thing I would like to highlight is service, it was very proffesional and people working there was extremely nice. Also houskeeping did their job very good as room was shining every day.

Room Tip: Better choose room in the main building as they have also cottages in the garden.

The Bishops Table is very centrally located and not that far of a walk to the train station if you kow where you are going. It has a nice sitting area downstairs and sunny garden and wifi is free in these areas.
My husband and i stayed here for two nights and thought it was good value for the price paid. We were in room 6 which was on the main street but with the double glazed windows didn't find it a problem, Farnham is not that busy late at night. The room was a very generous size as was the bathroom. Yes not perfectly maintained but it was clean and it has a period charm that others might describe as "in need of a renovation" buts let's not forget it's not professing to be 5 star as some of the reviewers on this site seem to forget. The staff were very friendly and overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

We stayed for one night and had a lovely large room. The gentleman on reception was welcoming and helpful. Some of the decor in the hotel was a little tired, but for the price we paid and the convenience of the location, I didn't have a problem with it. I would agree with the comments about the room temperature, we really could have done with a fan in the room we had, which was quite uncomfortably hot. We were also very unlucky in that we had the most inconsiderate and noisy people in the room next to us, who came in at 1.30 and banged around, talking at the tops of their voices, for an hour. This is not the hotel's fault, but in this case a fan would also have helped to drown out the noise. The bathroom, in particular, seemed to amplify voices. I probably wouldn't stay here again, given the number of hotels in the area.

I visited the Bishops Table approximately one year ago (this has been on my 'to do' list for a while!). My room was in poor condition, wallpaper peeling, tv from 50 years ago and the bathroom looked like I was back in the school shower it was so basic. There was a bath, but no plug, the radiator was stuck on full althou it was the middle of summer, i wouldnt touch the sink and paint was peeling everywhere. As we were on the first floor above reception we could also hear the music being piped in to reception - not ideal whilst trying to relax.
Upon opening a window, a pane of glass broke, shattering glass all over the floor. This was entirely due to the poor condition and old age of the windows (not their fault that it is a listed building). At this point I was shown two other rooms to move to, or told I would have a full refund if I left. Both other rooms were equally as disappointing, and therefore, after a short walk into town to find another hotel I went back to pack and leave. The manager then decided it wasn't okay to give me a refund, and I have never received my money back.

I did however have the most excellent evening in the Bush Hotel, just down the road.

Avoid the Bishops Table at all costs - absolutely awful place, tired, staff are most unhelpful - they take full payment upfront and then do not care what your experience is like.
