Loch Fyne Farnham is always a default choice when we want a fish supper, but we also seem to arrive in hope, and leave slightly disappointed. Not for the first time we have complained that the fish portions are miniscule. Taste and garnish help of course but we find ourselves indulging in extra sides or bread to avoid the hungry post dinner syndrome.
What we can never understand is that at an average £15 just for the fish portion alone, it's strategically very false economy on the part of the Owners, Greene King , who we are told control portion size to the nth degree, not to have customers leaving satisfied. Maybe that's why Loch Fyne is often less than full on nights when you would expect them to be bursting at the seams ? Even adding 50% would be irrelevant to their actual costs when they probably waste much of the stock anyway.
