“brilliant day out”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

we got to the rural life centre at 10.00 when it opened . we went with our two grandchildren on a special event day expecting to pay more but we were pleasantly surprised to find the same admission prices , there was plenty to see and do for all ages and the on site blacksmith and wood turner took tmle with the kids , even though they are only 3 and 4 answering very strange questions with good humour we planned to stay 2/3 hours and stayed all day really well worth a visit

“Wish we had found it sooner”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Visited today with the grandchildren. Lots to see and lots of space to run around. Some of the attractions only run on Sundays so weren't operating today - but that didn't matter, and was probably a bonus! No queueing or problems with the exhibits - we could look and talk about everything without interruption. The few other visitor we saw were regular visitors - even though some accompanying children were still in pushchairs. There is also a little play area - a decent cafe - and the inevitible shop. However, as this is a charity and the gifts are inexpensive we had no trouble parting with some cash on useful items. Perfect for all age ranges. There is also a nearby nature reserve that can be accessed from the venue. Can't wait to go back

“Awesome that's one word for this place”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

This was a wonderful day out, there is so much to see and it's run by a bunch of very happy and merry volunteers
There's a little train and a brilliant cafe, the children can run around and can touch things, have a go on things and really see how war time people coped. They can dress up in the old school house and take a seat at an old wooden desk, try and pump water from the water pump
I could go on and on and on........ Go and find this place for your selves it's a little gem ...

My parents and children had a wonderful day here today. All were entranced - children loved all the hands on activities and crafts, grandparents the reminiscing. Nice cafe and shelter if rains.
