I was purchased the experience of Birdkeeper for the Day as a birthday present. I booked it for 29th May 2014 and arrived not REALLY knowing what to expect! All I can say is that I had the most fantastic, FANTASTIC day! I was warmly met, looked after SO, SO well by Paula and her birdkeeper team as well as Ben and Sylvie - the education team. I was shown so many things behind the scenes as well as hands on feeding of so many different birds including - the beautiful penguins. Everything was explained to me from hatching, rearing, breeding, feeding, enrichment and general care and welfare of all the birds. Zoe let me cuddle a baby penguin that she has hand reared. I also took part in various events/shows - Pelican, Penguin, Great Bustards feeding and talks as well as the Outdoor Flying Display. Just to be part of the team, to see how hard they work and how well they love and care for the birds was such a wonderful experience. As you may have realised by now I had such fun, learnt so much and had a great time. Sorry that I have not mentioned all the keepers by name but I want to mention some of the birds - French Freddie, Harold, Charlie, Barnaby and SO many more. I cannot recommend this experience enough but IF this day out is too much for your pocket there are other experiences. If not just visit for the day there is so much to see. Thank you Birdworld and all your staff. Julie xxx

You have to negotiate the shop on the way in and the way out! Be warned. They want you to part with your money - so those blinkers are worth buying before you park your car! Gifts are overpriced as is the food. If you like birds - you will enjoy the attraction.

If you like to see a variety of wild birds this is the place to go, however, be warned they are all captive and some of the conditions are far from ideal for the birds. You can walk through areas where the birds fly around you which is great to see them up and close. Allow a few hours to see it all, they reduce the price by 25% for the last 2 hours of opening. Great for kids

My husband and I took our son (almost aged 3) and our baby daughter to Birdworld today for the first time & had a lovely experience. Members of staff were polite & helpful & the place was mostly clean and tidy. It was lovely to walk around and see all the different birds, particularly the flamingo's, penguins & peacocks. We sat and had icecream, while our toddler played in the playground. There was plenty of room to push a buggy around too. We bought bird feed at the entrance & our son loved being able to feed the birds! I would say that the baby change unit could do with improvement, the door didn't fully lock & it felt a bit grubby in there. Other than that, the place was great. We would definitely go back again.

We have been to Birdworld 4 times in the past year, we just love it.
The facilities are always clean (particularly the baby change at the entrance).
The staff are always friendly and helpful, willing to answer any questions that you have.
The flight show is fantastic.
The Jenny Wren Farm is brilliant, with the option of handling a huge variety of animals including getting in the pen with the goats. There is on sight handwashing facilities as you enter and exit the farm.
The "train" is fun and you get to see the park in a different way and get a rest whilst the kids oo and ahh.
One time a friends baby dropped his glove and the driver went back to get it immediately, without any fuss whatsoever.
The aquarium is small but good.
They always have different activities going on during half term and holidays throughout the year. Father Christmas visit at Birdworld is hands down one of the best attractions for the money!
I really can't fault the place.
There is also often BOGOF vouchers available so for 2 adults and an under 3 for £15.95 during peak season it is well worth the money!
