“Lovely Weekend Getaway”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2012

My wife and I booked to stay at Kiln Farm for a weekend getaway. We were delighted with the B&B and the lovely surroundings. Julia was very welcoming and provided us with a torch when we wanted to head to the local pub in the pitch black dark. Raphe gave us local walking suggestions and we were able to enjoy some lovely countryside walks! The room had nice little touches was warm and cosy and our only comment was the TV was not watchable as the colour was gone.
Would definitely go back and really enjoyed Farnham.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable few days here around Christmas 2011. Unlike the previous "Quiet place in a busy town" reviewer, we found it impeccably clean and felt that the service was first-rate. Farnham is a beautiful but somewhat overcrowded town, but this B&B is hidden in a small haven of tranquility about 25 minutes walk from the town centre. There is absolutely no traffic noise. The main building, an ancient farmhouse, together with the adjacent stables and coach-house, provide a charming atmosphere. We stayed in the coach-house (comfortable bed, fairly spacious room, good shower). We did not try the TV in our room. Continental and cooked breakfasts were both substantial and we especially liked the yogurt and servings of good old-fashioned bread/toast. Our hosts, Julia and the improbably-named Raphe, were very welcoming, relaxed and helpful, and not in the least obtrusive. They lead busy, interesting lives and know Farnham well. The B&B is not the cheapest in Farnham but we would happily go back.

This B&B is set back off the road so when you enter the courtyard you could be in the middle of the country. There are two rooms in converted outbuildings and one room in the main house, all have en suite. Free WiFi is available. Cooked breakfast only at weekends - toast, cereal (Muesli, Weetabix and a crunchy/muesli option), Fruit (apples, bananas and tangerines). We had the 'stables' room to start with - the mattress was too hard for us, and the TV picture was discoloured. The room apart from this was fine, had a microwave, good sized fridge and ironing board (iron on request) as well as coffee/tea making facilities. We mentioned the mattress to Julia and we were offered a change of room - the Kiln room located in the main house which we took. This mattress was much better and the TV worked properly (but the tuning of the programs was a bit strange e.g. channel 10 or 13 was bbc1 etc), Shower was powerful but the head was old and created 'needle jets' of water - would benefit from a change. Raphe and Julia were very pleasant and not intrusive. All in all a quiet place.

Room Tip: Kiln room for us was more comfortable.
