“Pretty and Different.”
Reviewed 1 November 2012

This is my local B and B and I have recommended it to friends who have been very happy here. There is a lovely garden and the rooms are very private being separate to the main house. Everything is simple yet stylish and there are lovely walks nearby and three really good pubs with excellent food within a 15 minute walk.

We stayed at Kiln Farm for three nights recently whilst helping our son and family to prepare for their move to the US. We had a very busy time and returning to the quiet of Kiln Farm was excellent. The room was small but everything one would need was there and the bed comfortable. The owners were very friendly and breakfast very good. Though we didn't need it, the provision of a fridge and microwave would be very welcome to some. One tiny niggle; we would have preferred larger bath towels.

We recently returned from a two night stay in the "Stable Room" at "The Kiln" and found it very quiet and comfortable.

The room was clean and well furnished with plenty of hanging space and the tv worked well.
The bed was comfortable and we slept well. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room. There was a room heater available if needed.

The bathroom was well fitted out with a large shower cubicle with excellent water pressure.

We were there for Saturday and Sunday morning breakfast and there was a choice of cereal, juice and fruit as well as a "full english" cooked breakfast which set us up for the day

A bonus for me was free wifi which worked well for my iPad.

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would return if we needed B&B again in that area.

I stayed for 2 nights over a weekend while attending a course at Squires Kitchen in Farnham town centre. On arrival it was a lovely surprise to find the 'stables' accommodation had plenty of space, lovely bathroom, great decor, very clean, warm & really comfortable - actually nicer than the photo's on the Kiln Farm website . I really liked the privacy of the accommodation while at the same time, being on my own, I felt totally safe. There is plenty of off road parking, which is a must in my book. It is only a 3 minute drive into Farnham & the railway station car park is great for parking - Saturday & Sunday it is £2 for the whole day, please note you have to pay by card at a machine, no cash.
I would definitely stay here again.

The main reason for booking this B&B was due to its location and according to thier web site "Our speciality is the full English Breakfast"

On arrival I had to look really carefully to make sure I was in the right place as there is no distinctive signage outside Kiln Farm B&B.

The welcome from Raphe was warm and welcoming and the room I was allocated in the main building was nicely furbished and comfortable.

The real disappointment for me was at breakfast as they do not provide a full English Breakfast during the week !!!!

The next time I require B&B in this area I will definatly look for an alternative to Kiln Farm and be prepared to travel further as the cost does not justify the standard provided.

While our guest found our facilities very pleasant, he was surprised that he was not offered a full English breakfast during the week. While our website makes this clear ..." We usually serve "continental" breakfast on weekday mornings" ...., our guest had read the website for Kiln Farm B&B in KENT (approx 100 miles away), which DOES offer cooked breakfast every day. What can we say? To help him, we did offer him a quick simple cooked breakfast but he was in too much of a hurry.
As far value, we suggest he checks out prices in this expensive locality!

We stayed at Kiln Farm for a business trip. The accommodation was good, lovely shower, but slightly chilly. I had to get up during the night to put on a cardigan! The double bed was two singles put together with a very hard ridge between them. The welcome from Raphe was warm and he advised us of eating options in the area. Breakfast was most disappointing. No hot food in the week and simply cereal and toast - not different from at home! We stay in many B&B for both business and holidays: this one was quite expensive for what was provided.

We were sorry that this guest was not happy with certain aspects of their stay.
When it comes to night time room temperature, we find guests have varied preferences. Both of our units have their own electric heaters for guests so they can set their own room temperature and, being of modern construction, these have coped even in cold winters. While there was a slight frost that morning we can only assume there was a setting error.
As far as the bed goes, guests are again varied as to whether they like hard or soft mattresses. This bed is supplied by a speciality hotel bed firm and we are sorry they found it uncomfortable as we have had numerous compliments about it. Guests who stayed last night said “Sorry for being late to breakfast, the bed was so comfortable, we overslept!”
We do offer a simple breakfast during the week but with plenty of good quality ingredients, which we find normally sets people up well for an active day. This has been a popular approach for our weekday visitors but at the weekend, we offer a cooked breakfast in keeping with a more relaxed stay.
Regarding value, maybe our guest is not aware of the costs of running a 4* B&B in this area (and why should they be!). The cost is reflected in the price and, for example, for 1 night stay on the following Thursday in a local Premier Inn is £94, without breakfast. Ours is £69 with. Not bad value!
Finally, they rated our “service” and “room” at a disappointing 3 but make no comment as to why they gave these when it seems these were all good (eg They said "the accommodation was good”)

I'd have to give an overall rating of excellent for our stay at Kiln Farm, as it did everything it said on the tin and delivered on many levels. Firstly the location - 5 great pubs all within walking distance, each providing their own unique character/charm. The location of the residence was easy to find and provided a tranquil setting. We stayed in one of the outhouses, which meant we had plenty of privacy, whilst always being assured Julia and Raphe were always on hand to offer recommendations/advice on where to go/eat/drink/activities etc.

The breakfast was hearty and did the job in terms of setting us up for the day, I only wish we stayed at the weekend to sample the cooked breakfast. The parking facilities were good, with off road parking available, with ample room for 4, maybe 5 cars.

Fantastic B&B, well worth a stay.
