“Nice to see this pub back on track”
Reviewed 14 May 2012

We have been coming into Farnham for years as only live in Guildford. We are massive fans of this sweet, historic town. We have been visiting the Nelson Arms on and off for about 5 years but had stopped coming due to there being a constant change of staff, especially management. My boyfriend and I and another couple came over last Wednesday (10th May) for dinner and we thought we would give it one more shot as we love the simple, honest food and of course the cosy pub. I am so glad we did. There had recently been a change in management and the whole atmosphere and vibe of the place seemed different. We spoke with the new owners, brother and sister who are actually from Farnham and been in the pub trade all their lifes! We had a fantastic evening which turned into a 3 course meal and a few bottles of plonk! I have literally joined trip advisior to recommend here as we cannot wait to get back over there! Good luck guys, i wish you great success! Jess & Danny.

“"Friendly, welcoming pub with ' olde worlde' atmosphere"”
Reviewed 12 May 2012

My family and I had a really enjoyable Sunday lunch here last weekend. Generous portions were served with smaller sized meals for the children and the roasts were all you could ask for! We realised that this pub has just been taken over by new enthusiastic owners who are obviously keen to make a success of this lovely little pub. The service was friendly and very helpful making it a great meal out.

It was a lovely pub which i visited often, but where are the lovely staff? Have to say the friendly service has now gone down hill. Such a shame.

“Proper pub”
Reviewed 14 April 2012

We happened to park outside this pub and thought we would give the food a go. Very nice surroundings in what felt like a proper old fashioned pub. We thoroughly enjoyed a Boatman's lunch (ploughmans), cauliflower cheese and bacon, the children had scampi and chips. (kids meals not advertised but they will do smaller menu portions). Food was well presented and for a change to most pubs the coca cola on draught didn't taste watered down. Selection of real ales available. Maybe we'll take a taxi next time!
