“Relaxation at its best”
Reviewed 8 July 2009

Haven't stayed here for a while but what a wonderful surprise. We stayed in one of their executive rooms and it was lovely. The room was clean and they had really lovely soft towels. As we were there to relax, the silence was golden.
As the hotel is so near the town, just a walk away, it was easy to take a stroll when you pleased without worrying about transport. As there are so many lovely restaurants in Farnham we ate out each night so can't comment on the hotel's food. Would we go back? Of course!!

Stayed here for a month in the executive room and enjoyed the town of Farnham as a base. There are a lot of nice restaurants and pubs at the doorstep of the hotel. The staff is an international mix with limited knowledge of the area. The hotel itself is quite charming with its history. There is no need to eat dinner at the hotel as I saw limited guests take their dinner at the Bush with the abundant choices in the town. Breakfast which was provided in my rate was sufficient with a good mix of hot and cold items.

My company booked me in here as I was training at the HO in Farnham (and while this comment is not germane to the hotel review, what a dump Farnham is, BTW).

The hotel is a very old building, and as seems to be norm, a bit of a rabbit warren. My room was 3xx and of course no lift, so lugging baggage to and from the room was fun.

I was glad my room was on the top floor as the floors all creaked spectacularly and in particular a spot just by my bathroom door was above average creakiness, so the poor guy below me must have really been driven nuts.

The bathroom was OK, clean enough and the toiletries quite respectable. Overall the room was fine, yes, a small, old TV but I wasn't there to watch TV, and it had a trouser press so I could stay looking sharp...

Breakfast was buffet style, good selection, and the service was pretty efficient and the staff quite pleasant.

Drinks in the bar a few times during the week, honourable mention to the wines by glass offerings.

The hotel seems popular with airlines and cabin crew, so on occasion the scenery was quite pleasant.

I will likely be back as I will be going to HO again later in the year, but as to whether I would stay there on my own dollar, I am not sure. If I absolutely *had* to be in Farnham for something, probably yes, but perhaps due to a lack of alternatives. Handy for Sainsbury's though...

Stayed here in August for a wedding I was attending near Farnham. The hotel is nothing spectacular, but perfectly reasonable. Has ample parking, staff are friendly and the bar area is nice. Also has some decent gardens that are pleasant to sit in.

If you want a reasonably priced hotel in Farnham with decent amenities then this one will do the trick!

  • Liked — Reasonably priced, decent surroundings
  • Disliked — Rooms a little dated.

I absolutely would not recommend this hotel.
The food was bad.
The walls are thin and the people around us were noisy.
The Reception staff and 'Duty Manager' were unhelpful at best and on leaving, exceptionally rude.
We booked to have dinner bed and breakfast and had to remind them of this - we wished we hadn't. We were the only ones in the restaurant at dinner and the food was distinctly average.
In the first room we went to, we asked to open the door to the terrace - we were told the key had gone missing! this door led outside, meaning we did not feel at all safe in our room. We were re-located next door and saw a poor old couple being put in our first room minutes later.
A bad experience.

Lots of charm in a building with a long history. Perfect if you would rather have something distinctly English rather than a spotless, modern hotel experience. Highly recommended.

Stayed for Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. Staff extremely helpful with arranging a delivery of flowers, put into our room as suprise for my wife. Dealt with 3 members of staff, 2 reception and barman who all appeared to like working there and were genuinely please to help.

Excellent room, very clean with tea/coffee and complimentary flapjack bite things (really tasty!)

Great price too, £80 including a really good breakfast - All sorts available to help yourself to - eggs (scrambled/poached/fried/ bacon/black pudding/ beans/ mushrooms/ cereals/ muffins/ fruit/ hams.
