Me and my boyfriend recently booked into the parisian dreams suite for one night. The room was very nice and the bath was just amazing! Plenty of hot water to keep it hot.
The room is bigger than it looks in the photos as it doesnt show the sofa and the area around it.
Didnt get a chance to really meet the staff but the hotel itself is nicely decorated and a nice atmosphere.
The only things i could say that would need improving would be to maybe get some air conditioning? I did get quite hot during the night and had to open the window. Some the reviews comment on the noisy traffic outside, this wasnt a problem till we had to open the window.
Also the dvd player on the tv was pretty rubbish, We bought a new dvd to watch and it kept skipping, but this didnt bother us to much as its not what we booked the hotel for :-)
It was less than a 5 minute walk to/from the train station which is handy and its a short walk to the high street which is a nice walk if the weather is nice (we werent too lucky)
All together i think the hotel is great if your a couple looking for a nice night together and i would recomend this hotel to people!

Have just returned from a perfect night away at De Vie. From the moment we arrived we felt totally relaxed. The design throughout is very tasteful, the rooms are spotlessly clean (we stayed in the decadance room which I have to say is absolutely beautiful), food great and staff friendly and welcoming. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel - not only to other couples seeking a romantic night away - but to others too as, whilst there is a lovers theme to the hotel (erotic artwork and love swing - boxed, under the bed) it is very tastefully appointed throughout and it is clear from speaking to Roger, the owner, that the hotel is used by a wide range of customers. We shall certainly be returning soon...

Stayed at this hotel, overall was enjoyable few days.

Nice interior, room fine and breakfast good.

Although what lets this place down is in its value for money.

Having stayed in Farnham a few times, would recommend the Farnham B&B, 5 star b&b at 1/2 the price.

Overall, would recommend, but this area could be improved.

We stayed there (in the Parisian Dreams Suite) for four nights and were very happy with the room, the service and the food. The bed is huge and the bath is amazing, it´s like going for a swim in a hot spring. However, the most remarkable thing about it is the service. Roger, the owner, is always around and very helpful and makes you feel very much at home. So do his staff. We had a lovely time.

We decided to have a weekend away for ourselves. We chose the Parisian Dreams room because we like relaxing together in a bath and this room has a huge bath.

Although the location wasn't the easiest to find (the building doesn't look much from the outside), the interior was surprisingly luxurious and very nicely appointed.

The staff were very pleasant on arrival, the hotel felt relaxed and was spotlessly clean.

The room was beautifully decorated; with a large comfortable bed, a superb bath with candles, large screen tv and comfortable seating area.

We decided to eat in and had an excellent Green Thai chicken meal.

We had a decadent time drinking wine in the candlelit bathroom watching a movie. There was plenty of hot water which came out a good speed. The showers were also very good.

There was also a delicious breakfast, with copious amounts of orange juice, tea, coffee and toast, and a very good cooked English breakfast.

We had a really great, relaxing self indulgent time away, and look forward to repeating this again soon. We would have no hesitation recommending this hotel to our friends for a hedonistic time !

Rather than heading overseas for a long weekend, we decided to have a couple of days away for ourselves, in the Scarlet Suite.

Although the location wasn't the easiest to find (the building doesn't look much from the outside), the interior was surprisingly luxurious, and very nicely appointed .

The staff were very amenable from arrival, the hotel felt very peaceful, and everything looked spotlessly clean wherever we looked.

The room itself was superb; a lovely solid (very comfortable) four poster, superb bath, large screen tv and comfortable seating area (including a large chair just perfect for the two of us).

We only spent a few gentle hours strolling around the local town centre (which thankfully is still full of lots of independent shops, and was a very pleasant change to the city we’re from), but otherwise, very much relaxed at the hotel all day & night.

My partner had a rare treat of spending nearly two hours in the bath, watching a movie. It seemed like the hot water was endless.

We were particularly impressed with the breakfast; the most delicious orange juice we’ve ever had, toast that arrived particularly hot (unlike the cold toast often received in hotels), and the eggs felt like they’d literally just come off the stove (which sounds odd, and should be normal, but we really don’t normally get!)

Although there were a couple of minor things to bring to their attention, these were very effectively dealt with by the staff, and resolved immediately with genuine apologies.

Overall, we had a really great, particularly relaxing time away, and look forward to repeating this again soon.

I agree with “NatashaHertfordshire”, “LondonFifi” and “Robskils” that this place is clearly over-priced for what it is.

Trying to make it out to be a luxury retreat in a high standard boutique hotel is risible. It was not the luxury I was expecting for the price. The hotel’s position on a main road was not conducive to its claim to be a quiet boutique hotel. The hotel did not meet the expectations set on the website and the room was certainly not worth £110 per night.

There was no obvious welcome from the receptionist when we arrived. The only time we saw Roger (the owner) was when we checked out two days later.

The room was far more basic than I had expected from the hotel’s own website. The bed was not comfortable. There were no armchairs to sit in. There was a crack in the wall and some wallpaper/plaster were peeling off the wall. The shower room was ok, perhaps slightly on the small side, but with a powerful shower. However, the shower tray was split and the grouting would benefit from some attention. In the light of the room rate and the hoteI’s promotion of itself as “boutique” and its claim to be “decorated to the highest standard”, these things really should be sorted out asap. In fact, a paying guest should not have to mention them - they should already have been dealt with.

The smell of greasy food being prepared wafted up to our room as we tried to relax in the late Saturday afternoon (tricky with the traffic noise, I admit!) before a night out in Farnham.

The walls in the room seem to be quite thin and the sound proofing appears to be unsatisfactory. We could hear guests in the adjoining room in the middle of the night. Nice...

The breakfast was fine although nothing special. There is a well-stocked DVD library and TVs in the bedrooms have various Sky channels.

Hotel de Vie failed to deliver on the expectations set out on its website. Taking account of the high price charged for an average room with a less than comfy bed on a fairly busy road, I won’t be returning to this establishment.

This review must refer to a stay with us that was some time ago, this guest has decided to write the review after some time or alternatively Tripadvisor have been slow in posting it. I am absolutely certain of this because the shower tray with a hairline crack in was replaced back in October and this room along with others has been re-decorated in November, we have even added a comfy leather chair!

I have covered the points raised by this guest in my previous response(s) so I don’t want to bore readers by repeating myself. Out of 72 reviews on here 50 of our guests rate us as excellent and 4 as terrible. Someone told me that it is far more likely for people to write a review if they have had a bad experience rather than a good one. If there is any truth in that theory than I guess we should be quite pleased.

I meet a lot of guests who come to stay with us but it is difficult to be around all the time to meet everyone and I am sorry that I didn’t get to meet these guests until they checked out. Although I have no recollection of any discussions with any guests about the issues raised here.
