“Great forest / park for the family (and the dog!)”

We have visited Alice Holt several times, and it is consistently good. Lots of long walks, a few surprises and just a great escape. A great way to give the dog a good walk before retiring to a local pub for lunch

“Great Day Out”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 March 2014

We drove out of West London as part of my partners Mothers Day celebration. The weather was excellent and the traffic lighter than expected. The car park was nearly full when we arrived and we discovered that a dog show and other attractions had been arranged for that day. It was busy in that area but our little dog enjoyed seeing other dogs of all shapes and sizes . We set of on one of the trails and soon left the crowd for quieter surroundings. The grand children ( 3 boys aged between 5- 11) were soon exploring the hilly terrain and getting muddy on the edges of ditches pursued by the dog. We moved on to another trail specifically designed for children with something to climb or swing on every 70 yards or so. Then on to the Cafe on the Green for cups of Tea and Ice Creams .We didn't eat but what we saw looked good and the prices seemed reasonable. A great day everyone agreed
No entry fee but fee for car parking. We paid £4 for 3 hours

“Walking in the forest”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

Brilliant walk for all the family.
I visited Alice Holt forest on Sunday morning with my adult daughter and our dog.
The adventure through the forest is a free activity. When we went the car parking was also free although I believe often there is a small charge.

We had a lovely 1.1/2 walk along the footpaths, through the tree's and along a stream.
The walks are suitable for everyone. Lots of road worthy paths for pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Mud trails too! We saw lots of people with bikes, scooters. Many dogs on leads.

There is a visitors centre area, cafe and toilets.Education centre.

On our walk we saw children playing games, running around and jumping the stream.Pond dipping
Quite a few families had picnic boxes.
I saw sculptures made of wood that the children climbed on.
I did not see any woodland flowers, Just bare branched trees and some evergreens.

Alice holt holds many events and activities for all through the year.
Craft ssessions, nordic walking, wildlike walks, mums and todlers.....
Easy trails, den building.

“Nordik Walking in the Farnham Area.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

I walk for two hours at least twice a week, sometimes 3 x so like to vary the venues, this is possible within Alice Holt and at the moment with all the rain we have had, there are sufficient paths to allow reasonably easy walking, very little mud.
There are also woodland paths outside of the popular main forest area, allowing you to walk through to Bentley to the west and also south into the Abbotts Wood Inclosure. We have recently started walking in the Bourne Woods also part of Alice Holt, again we have found the paths easy to walk in this very wet winter.

“Lovely family day out !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 March 2014

Visited this Forrest on Saturday with several family members including children.
We set off on the trail from the totem pole and found it lovely with several activities for the children en route. Walking through the Forrest was lovely and picturesque with little streams running through it. The trails are easy to walk along even with a pushchair . Our children took scooters and many used bikes. Think the trails are well thought out and keep the children entertained !
You have to pay to park . There is a cafe . Children's playground. You can hire bikes.
The go ape is optional and would advise you book a time slot in advance. You receive training on safety and then go off on a unique experience in the tree tops. There is one section for adults and another for children over 1 metre tall. Everyone lived the experience and would recommend !
Whether you want activities or just a lovely walk this place is ideal
There are leaflets available with all the information on you may want
