Pleasing in a time of stress

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Mar 2021
Stayed here in line with COVID restrictions. The hotel is located just a short walk from Kingston train station and bus routes are very close by. Checked in used the Hilton app and digital key was offered which meant originally no contact with front desk. To operate the lift you also use your digital key. Had a lovely balcony corner room on the sixth floor. Very roomy once inside and clean which follows their Hilton Cleanstay policy, however, the tv remote had the card wrap over it to say it has been sanitised but the plastic back of the remote was missing showing where the batteries are. Also broken and unusable was the additional door lock which goes across the door - surely this should have have been picked up by housekeeping and reported, especially the back of the remote which was glaringly obvious when fitting the cleanstay wrap over it?! When hotels are quiet these details should be picked up more easily. There is a balcony which though on the small side does mean you can have fresh air into the room (it is big enough to walk out onto). The bathroom is very roomy and though no bath does provide a powerful shower which again is a nice size. At the time of writing and because of COVID the bar and restaurant are not available to sit in but drinks can be ordered along with a small selection of food. Had cause to speak to the front desk regarding a non-probmatic matter and although nice enough wasn’t over friendly. Same with checking out in fact a smile wouldn’t have gone amiss. The bed was very comfy though you will hear the trains which can be loud when passing by, didn’t bother me as such but worth noting if your of light sleeper. Speaking of which, a very peaceful and quiet night was had (despite the trains u TIL they stopped running) which I was most grateful for. Lovely large TV to view with a range of in-room coffees provided (for this particular room). All in all very nice and one that I would recommend.

So I found this hotel via booking.com and it looked really nice.

So hotel was superb, I stayed in a superior king room which was spacious and a great comfortable king size bed. The hotel staff very kindly gave me a fridge that I could store stuff in which was well needed

Breakfast very nice each morning

The only downside was the parking issue which isn’t the hotel’s fault. Perhaps the hotel could benefit from its own car park

To leave your car in the seven kings car park is £14 daily

I would definitely stay here again

Staff couldn’t do enough for their guests

Job well done guys 👏

I stayed here on business for 3 nights in January. I imagine it was pretty empty at the time, which helps on the noise levels, but I also noted that despite being near the main Kingston thoroughfares, it felt sedate. Also, the railway line didn't seem to bother me. Rooms were not large, but not tiny, and well-appointmented with chairs and good occasional lighting. Bathroom was good, but oh, what a shame there was no bath! I would certainly recommend this hotel.

I booked a nights accommodation as a surprise for my husbands birthday, and was very happy (on booking) to know that they could accommodate our infant daughter with a travel cot and our dog could also stay in the room
with us.

On the day of check in I had a missed call from the hotel, so called them back and spoke to someone about online check in (I was having problems completing this online) and was advised to check in at the hotel in person.
Unfortunately on check in at the hotel we were told there were no travel cots available and that they had called and left me a msg. I said I had called back and spoke to someone but no one had advised us that that this was the case. Our baby girl is too small for the sofa bed so she slept in the pram. As a four star hotel, I would expect there to be enough travel cots to be available (especially as I had been told on booking that there would be one available) or better communication between staff that I had been contacted to be notified that there wasn’t a cot available.
We stayed in the king junior suite, which had plenty of space for us all and really clean. There are hand sanitizer stations around and all the staff wore masks. The cooked breakfast was delicious.

Excellent visit to this great hotel which was centrally placed and close to town centre, station , riverside and our hotel.

We had a great room on the second floor which was quiet, well appointed and very comfortable.

Had great break fast every day served up by head chef and a well stocked bar served drinks at night.

Sanitation was very good and hand sanitizer available at the entrance in lobby area.

Would return to this hotel and highly recommend it.

Room tip: We had room 212
