“Excellent hotel”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

Had a wonderful two night stay at warren house. We will recommend this hotel to our friends and we will definitely be returning. We had a lovely room at the top of the house which was lovely and peaceful considering it faced out to the entrance of the hotel. The gardens are amazing and having breakfast on the patio in the sunshine was a great ending to our weekend away. We had tickets for wimbledon and all the hotel websites were sending us into central London. So warren house is a perfect escape but not too far outside the capital.

Thanks very much for your lovely review.
The on line booking agencies do tend to push you towards Central London, so I'm pleased that you did a little research and stayed local.
The terrace during the warmer weather is just unbeatable.
I hope you enjoyed the tennis!
We look forward to welcoming you back on another occasion.
Very best wishes,
Carolyn.

Overall a good experiences, but coming from the land of larger rooms and bigger beds and despite the upgrade to a "feature room " we found the rooms a bit on the small side but probably large by European standards. The bed advertised as a king was really only a double so if you are looking for sleeping real estate for you and your partner you may be disappointed. Also the bathroom is a snug fit , I don't think the Brits have embraced the concept of a his and hers vanity area. So it's definitely a tag team approach for bathroom use

But aside from that lots of positives , we had room 6 with great views over the garden and fish pond with the fountain that provided background sounds for sleeping.

The hotel itself is full of character, if the sun is shinning having breakfast lunch or drinks In the garden is as good as it gets.

Service was very good good, we didn't get chance to sample the indoor pool, gym or spa, leave that for our next visit .

Just a few hundred yards from Richmond park with really good jogging and walking routes. Close to direct line stations into London , good spot for Wimbledon, twickenham and just chilling out for the weekend .

Room Tip: If you need extra bed space go for the super king rooms. Otherwise room 6 is charming.

Thanks very much for your lovely review.
Our English Country Houses do indeed offer an alternative style to the 'two double beds' 'over the pond' offering.....but I hope the charm, tranquility and history of the property balanced this for you.
We look forward to welcoming you back on another occasion.
Very best wishes,
Carolyn.

On first sight the Warren House just takes your breath away! The building is incredibly beautiful and the grounds are huge and delightful. The public rooms are as beautiful as the hotel's exterior. All deserve 5 stars ( or more) As to the staff, everyone without exception was welcoming and extremely helpful. 5 stars again.

Small problems: although the guest rooms are lovely to look at they are quite small which can be a problem if one has a lot of luggage. Also there is no air-conditioning which is understandable considering the era in which the manor house was built . But on hot summer days ( our experience ) it can be a bit uncomfortable. Fortunately there is an overhead fan which helps a bit and the windows, thankfully, can be opened. There are several dining areas, all lovely, and each with it's own particular style, but unfortunately all with the exact same rather limited menu.

One way to deal with room size is to request a family room, as we did after reading comments made on Trip Advisor. Also for people with just a valise the room size would not be a problem. My final comment is just be prepared for the minor problems and you will have an absolutely extraordinary experience. Also you absolutely must go to the fabulous park which is just a 10 minute walk ( or less) from the hotel. There are deer wandering around, birds everywhere, gorgeous plants, and if you go into Isabella's garden you might just see a fox with her baby scuttling under the bushes.

Room Tip: If you have a lot of luggage ask for a family room even if there are only two of you.

Many thanks for your review.
Sorry to read that you had a couple of small problems. Our room sizes are restricted by the limits of the old house unfortunately but we can certainly store luggage in alternative areas to help.
Sorry also that you found the menu limited; we do cook all of our food from fresh, first principles and apologise if our options were not to your liking. We are always happy to offer alternatives / cater for special requests as much as we are able.
Great to see that on the whole you had a wonderful stay though and managed to explore the immediate area a little.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
Very best wishes,
Carolyn.

Very nice hotel with excellent rooms (beside the hard bed but is personal opinion). Lovely outside area, bar. Good breakfast. Wifi works everywhere.
My daughter used the swimming pool which was very good.

Loved Warren House! My husband and I opted to stay here rather than stay in a Heathrow airport hotel prior to our vacation.. And we loved it! Beautiful house steeped in history, attentive friendly staff, we used the leisure facilities and were the only ones in the pool! Our room was spacious although extremely warm during the night despite making use of the fans provided.

Breakfast was plentiful which we ate out on the terrace as it was a beautiful sunny weekend. Plenty of space in the car park, where our car remained whilst we explored the local area on foot. we even hired bikes on the Sunday morning after we checked out. We were delighted that we were able to stay until late afternoon where we continued to make use of the facilities. We took a bike ride into Richmond Park which isn't for the faint hearted!! I'm sure we got in the way of many serious cyclists :/

All in all a fabulous stay, and we will definitely be returning.

Great stay and fantastic retreat. I live in London only 5 miles from Warren House but came for a night of relaxation out of central London and you honestly feel like you are in North Yorkshire. Excellent service and very good value..... and a stone throw from London. What more could you ask.
