Long long wait for food

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Mar 2020via mobile
We stayed in this Premier inn on Sunday and Monday night this week. We chose to eat in the Thyme restaurant one of the evenings. We waited for one hour for one Prawn Cocktail and one Chicken skewer salad. Our main courses were to be poached salmon. All if these items are not overly challenging!!! We had to leave in the end, hungry at 8.40pm to order food else where. There were only 4 other tables occupied at that time!!!

As Premier Inns go, not one of my favourites in terms of the room. Although thoroughly cleaned and tidy, the chairs were a bit stained and tired, and the wall was marked in several places.
However, the staff were excellent, especially the young man on reception on the 3rd March who was fantastic. Cheerful and very helpful.
Food and service in the restaurant was good.

All you want from a hotel really. Close to town centre, nice and friendly staff, clean rooms although when you enter the hotel
It does look dirty till you get lift into reception area. Would have scored higher but we had a fire alarm on the Saturday and no one seemed to know how to react, also heading down from the 6th floor with a 2 year old wasn’t the best, it might be better to keep family’s on a lower level, if anyone from the hotel is reading this there’s chain and locks on some of the doors on the way down fire stairs, I’m pretty sure your not meant to chain fire doors...

Brilliant weekend away, especially memorable was the food, shopping. Booked dinner at the restaurant attached to the hotel and we were perfectly seated and served by a lovely lady called Odette. Would highly recommend. We will be back

We had a lovely break to meet with our family in Kingstonuponthames. Welcoming and pleasant service from staff. Certainly stay againwhen visiting family in Kingston upon Thames.
I was disappointed on Sunday morning there was no table reserved for two we had to go on a long table in the food area, although we had prepaid in the booking. When I mentioned it to the waitres she did say she could try and find another table if we waited. I said don't worry it's not your fault..
