“Very, very, good”
Reviewed 5 August 2011

Front was a bit unpreposessing but space for cars -a good thing in this part of the world. Bedroom huge and very comfortable, overlooking lovely garden and very quiet. Clean; shower room good; huge, old(and with character and space) furniture; very comfortable bed. Excellent night's sleep. Breakfast served in very pleasant dining room with conservatory/orangery looking out onto garden. Wonderful food -full choice of fruit etc and ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT COOKED TO ORDER GRILLED BREAKFAST -never had better. Very pleasant proprietor, thank you for a comfortable stay, would recommend to anyone.

I stayed here whilst attending a family Christening in June and found it to be a very friendly little hotel that is in a fabulous location for both Reigate shopping and my family!

The rooms are very nicely decorated - in keeping with the era of the building and with nice attention to detail. There is a lovely (and massive) garden at the back of the hotel that is clearly looked after by someone who knows and loves gardening!

Breakfast consisted of a very plentiful buffet of fruit, cereals, loads of juices, pastries and yoghurts. You can also have a full English breakfast which is freshly cooked and very tasty.

I really liked the very personal feel of this hotel - it had a lovely atmosphere! If I was being very picky, I would have preferred a duvet rather than sheets and blankets and I think that proper glasses should be in the rooms rather than plastic disposable cups. I would also have appreciated a box of tissues as it would seem Reigate is not a good area for someone who suffers from hayfever!! As I say though, these are very picky points....even knowing these things would not stop me from staying again....but they have stopped me from putting 'excellent' as an overall rating.

All in all, it is very good value for money and I am looking forward to my next visit!

Room Tip: A room at the back is much quieter

I stayed here one night at the end of May on business. The reception was excellent; helpful and courteous but never intrusive. The accommodation and breakfast were both of the highest standard. The decor shows impeccable taste and everything has been thought of. If only all hotels were like this.

The room was very comfortable and overlooked the garden. The breakfast was lovely with loads of fresh fruit and cooked to order. We were able to sit out in the garden with a glass of wine as it was so hot. The pool was being cleaned but I didn't expect to be swimming outdoors in Reigate in April. Best of all was the friendliness of everyone. Thank you.

I was probably one of their first guest 3 years ago, and I love to come back. Micheal and Bruno are the friendliest hosts ever and there is nothing they would not do for their guests.

I stayed at the Cranleigh for over 50 nights while traveling back and forth from the states as I prepared to move into a new role and a new home. Michael and Bruno made me feel welcome and part of the Cranleigh family instantly. I loved waking up everyday to the smell of coffee brewing and bacon frying. They are located in Reigate, very easy walking to many shops and restaurants. The Cranleigh offers free WIFI and SKY TV, both are the comforts of home! I really enjoyed my time at the Cranleigh - for business or pleasure it is a great experience!

Michael and Bruno have created a lovely hotel and go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and at home. The rooms were tasteful, comfortable and clean. The hotel is perfectly located for a visit to Reigate; a few minutes walk from the town centre yet parking was easy. Would certainly recommend and will use again ourselves.
