We have stayed at the Little Haven on many occasions and think it is a wonderful hotel with the most perfect location. The rooms are spacious, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast is an absolute delight in the restaurant with its panoramic views of
the river and the sea, watching the ships come in and out while enjoying a full English breakfast. Lorraine, one of the waitresses at breakfast is always very friendly and her smile is a nice start to your day.
The Little Haven would not be what it is without Michael, the restaurant manager. He has a great personality and goes out of his way to make sure
everything is perfect for you.
We always make sure we are there over a weekend so we can have Sunday lunch, which is a must and great value for money.
When my Nana was 90 last year we hired The Riverside Suite for a birthday lunch for friends and family. Once again Michael and his
team did a wonderful job and everyone was very impressed how nice the room was decorated and the level of service we received.
Can't wait for our next visit later in the year.

Have just returned from a long weekend break at the little haven, right from our arrival to departure all staff members couldnt do enough to help us.
We had my Grandson with us who has special needs, he gets very anxious around eating so we were worried that the experience would have troubled him, not one bit of it.
This hotel was spotlessly clean which is a delight these days.
The duty manager Michael was fantastic, and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our stay an enjoyable experience, the food is delicious and appetizing, and the bar prices very reasonable, the breakfasts were fantastic. i would recommend people to come and explore this wonderful hotel, where all staff do their utmost to help all guests to feel special, all staff from the cleaners right through to management are a credit to this hotel, we will definatley be returning to this jewel in the crown. Well done keep it up ;)

Room Tip: The sea view rooms are so lovely and calming.

Being sent to South Shields for a one week safety course by my company didn't fill me with joy and The Little Haven Hotel was selected due to its proximity to the training centre. After arrival in the ample car park came a pleasant reception area where I was greeted by a very nice receptionist. After the usual booking in proceedure I was told where everything relevant to my stay was located (times an location of meals and of course the ever important bars) of which there are two. One next to reception and one in the dining room, both of which are very pleasant.

There is a lift that will take you to which ever floor you're room is located. For my stay I booked a premier room with a sea view. (beware the Lighthouse that will illuminate your room through the night, but not too bright) The room was modern and spacious with a double bed, en-suite toilet, desk with ample drawers, a dressing table and sofa. All very comfortable, clean and well maintained.

The restaruant and bars were well staffed throughout the the day and evening (between 15:00 and closing time) Bar prices were reasonable and food menus where exstensive. Food quality was very high and I did not consider going out to eat in the week I was there.

Being the first time my company has used the local training center I will be recomending The Litle Haven Hotel to my collegues yet to attend.

Room Tip: I had the Premier Room on the sea front and the lighthouse flashes through the curtains in the night...

We have stayed here on a couple of occasions as my husband's family are from S. Shields. We last stayed last summer for a family reunion and the stay was enjoyable and much improved from our previous visit two years before. The only thing that still lets it down is the evening meal in the restaurant which is more quantity than quality. Would stay again as it very conveniently located for us and our relatives but would choose to eat out in the evenings.

my wife and I have just returned from a two night weekend break at little haven, this was our third visit and I've got to say best, from the moment we walked through the door till we left we were treated by the staff and management as friends and not customers.(no we are not related to the hotel staff or have taken a back hander), as we had been before we had asked for a specific room, 214 with sea view, both the room and bathroom were clean and fully equipped so no probs there, the rest of the hotel, reception, bars and restaurant likewise, we had decided to eat in on the Friday night as it was advertised as steak night and we enjoyed it so much that we ate there again on the Saturday, although other people have expressed there disappointment at the quality, offering of the menu and there frustration at the speed of the service we were more than happy with the experience.
Having read the feedback reports, some of the reports praise the supervisor / duty manager, Michael,as to his customer approach and attitude, we would like to add our praise to this, on the Friday night there was a 14th birthday party being held in the restaurant, now the lad was wheelchair bound, likewise his best friend, and the way they and the rest of the party were treated by Michael and the other staff was a credit to everyone concerned and a pleasure for us to witness along with the singing of "happy birthday", we would also like to thank the waiting on and reception staff as we had a good laugh with them. we will be returning!!!!!!!

Room Tip: pay the £3 for the sea view

What a lovely place. It will be amazing when the whole seafront is all done up. There were a lot of the seafront undergoing refurbishment and the new leisure centre was not opened yet in august, but I assume it is all looking very smart now. Well worth a visit if it's your first time in south shields. A lovely walk!
Breakfastt was really good and the staff serving it was delightful!

Room Tip: ask for a view on the groyne! it's fabulous!
