I loved this place!

The hotel room was clean, nice big bed and was spacious. The restaurant was nice but the food wasn't brilliant, I did expect more.

The view from my hotel window was gorgeous, loved watching the ships coming in in the morning. The beach next to the hotel was lovely and there was plenty of nice walks.

I was overwhelmed by the beauty of South Shields and I will definitely be visiting again with the family.

I would definitely use this hotel again as the location was perfect.

The staff and students of Keelman's Way School in Hebburn had a fantastic and amazing time at The Littlehaven Hotel on Monday 14th July 2014! We arrived in the limo and there was a red carpet waiting for us at the main entrance. Kelly, Michael, Siobhan, Christine and the owner, Mrs Heather Holligsworth gave us one of the best parties in the world! We started by having our photos taken outside, overlooking the sea and Tynemouth Priory. We were all very excited and we all had our Prom dresses and posh suits on!
When we arrived in the Riverside Room, the tables were decorated with balloons and 'champagne and bubble' decorations. The disco was in place, the lights were shimmerring, we had fantastic riverside views and everyone was given a glass of fruit punch when they entered the room.
We has asked for a selection of pizzas, fish fingers, chicken legs and chips along with various dips and sauces. It was fantastic. We had a non stop supply of orange and blackcurrant juice and the Littlehaven staff were available at all times if we needed any help or support. The school staff also had teas and coffees at all times and they were really impressed with the Littlehaven too. It's a brilliant place, nothing is ever any problem for them, Kelly, Siobhan , Michael, Christine and Heather are always smiling- and they even joined in with our Awards Ceremony.
After our meal and the trophy awards, John put on the disco and we all jumped and had an awesome time dancing with our pals. We could not have had a better time anywhere else and we have already booked up the Littlehaven for next years Prom too!
Thank you so much from the Keelman's Way Seniors

Recently stayed here whilst attending a course at the local college. On arrival myself & my lovely lady were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the area was and how nice the hotel looked. Check in was painless and everything was explained about the restaurant and other facilities.

We had a double room with sea view, the room was a great size. Plenty of room for our travel cot and room to move around. The iron & ironing board is always a nice touch if you take pride in your appearance. The bed was extremely comfortable and plenty big enough.

The bathroom, again, was of a good size with powerful shower and soft fluffy towels.

The highlight for me must be the restaurant!!! I have to say a special thank you to Micheal (F&B Manager) for his excellent professionalism and service. He ensured everything was perfect with our meals and organised his young staff very well. He even managed to talk me into taking part in the Man vs Food burger challenge (Photos on their website) definitely NOT for the faint hearted!!!

The only downside I have is that the curtains in the bedroom could do with a blackout lining...... The nearby lighthouse was quite annoying during the night.

All in all a little gem of a hotel & we look forward to going back very soon.

Room Tip: All rooms are very good but just be wary of the sea view rooms as the nearby lighthouse does a good...

My wife and I spent two days here, arriving late on a Sunday. The welcome was warm and friendly and check-in very straightforward. The room was large and clean with everything you would expect, including a trouser press, iron and ironing board and tea and coffee.
The decor was modern and fresh. The bathroom was large and more to the point clean. The bed was soft but comfortable. The hotel is located right next to the river Tyne and the restaurant looks out onto the beach. The views are to die for. Our room had a harbour view from which we could see the fishing boats and larger ships coming and going. The waves on the beach were very relaxing and helped us go to sleep. The light house at night does illuminate the room, so if this might bother you take some eye shades. For us it added to the charm.
The restaurant is glass fronted with a glass roof, which makes it airy and welcoming. The breakfast was very good value for money with continental or full English as options. We ate in the dining room on the Monday night, when music was provided by a local musician. The al a carte menu was extensive and reasonably priced. The Table d'Hote was also very good, with something for every palate.
All the staff were friendly and chatty - a typical Geordie welcome.
Overall it was an excellent stay and va;lue for money.
One word of warning: it can be very difficult to book a Saturday night because the hotel is popular with wedding parties. So make sure you try and book well in advance.

Room Tip: If you want a harbour/riverside view then ask for rooms on the first floor with even numbers.

This hotel has a lovely setting facing either the Tyne river or the beach, a short work to town or along the beach to affordable and very nice restaurants however, with the chef and his great culinary skills it was preferred to eat in at the hotel. The "man versus food burger" is definitely worth a challenge for the those with a very large appetite.

The rooms are clean and well maintained, the bar prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and always willing to help. Michael is wonderful, always busy and working hard but still finds the time to stop and make the guests feel welcome, nothing is too much for him.

It is a three star, so no fancy spa or gym facilities but the warmth of the place and friendliness of the people make it a good honest value place to stay.

Although we are fairly local we decided to have a night at the Little Haven. Lovely room looking out to sea, goods night sleep, very friendly staff and the breakfast choice was incredible. Cereals, continental breakfast meat cheeses even roll mop herrings, prawns and smoked salmon which were beautifully arranged on a tray. I was wanting some smoked salmon but as I have a serious allergy to shellfish I was concerned that the salmon might have been contaminated by the prawns. I was immediately brought a plate with a huge amount of delicious smoked salmon on it. There was also a buffet style full English breakfast with really good quality products. Will definitely stay again asap got the impression it was more for mature people.

Room Tip: One overlooking the mouth of the Tyne over to Tynemouth Priory, can watch the ships and ferries go i...

Stayed with my wife & granddaughter in shared room. There was a wedding on, dreaded the sleep for the noise, however everybody behaved & Hotel ensured noise was kept to a min. Breakfast was good, advertised 3 types of eggs, only scrambled was there, still, all was hot & well cooked. All in all no complaints.
