A friend had her wedding reception at this hotel very recently, and it was a very enjoyable, well run event. The staff were attentive, the service was very efficient, and the food was delicious. The function room is relatively small, but not uncomfortably so, and the dance floor is again, on the small side, but the bonus being it doesn't take much to make it look full! The DJ (I suspect their in-house one) played a great range of music and the dance floor was full from start to finish. Bar prices are relatively high, but not out of line with other hotels.

The whole hotel is immaculate, and being right in the middle of a golf course means the grounds are a nice place to be too. The bedrooms are functional and again, spotless, but lacking in real character. They also feel miles and miles away from reception, and the event space, but I suppose this helps keep noise complaints down.

The only time I experienced any disappointment was at breakfast time. Tea and coffee was served from a buffet point, so after queuing for toast, then again for hot foods, I then had to queue again for tea. And the cups provided were the small (with saucer) types, rather than a mug, so everyone had to queue again mid way through eating to refresh their cups. A pot of tea/coffee provided on the table, or alternatively, larger mugs, would help. Similarly, the plates provided were very small, almost tea plates, so again, everyone queued twice as it simply wasn't possible to fit a full breakfast on one plate. Whilst the staff were helpful in replenishing items once notified, they didn't seem capable of spotting that something was low / out, but had to be made aware. At the time we went for Breakfast (a good hour before the end of service), and all of the hot food was down to remanants in the dishes, so it was this, or wait for fresh to be cooked.

The rest of my stay at the Hotel was great, and I would return, but I sadly wouldn't have particularly high hopes for Breakfast.

Stayed for business recently and requested a quiet room - it certainly was and also huge with seating area and four poster bed, it also had a whirlpool bath - glorious ! Best room I have stayed in whilst travelling for work ! The food was good - choice at breakfast extensive and staff helpful was working nights so needed quiet during the day - staff accommodating and provided clean towels and room supplies without disruption to my sleep. There are good facilities at this hotel - a nice size pool and leisure centre that a free to residents - also a golf course available at supplement. Only down side - there are no public access computers - so don't forget your laptop ! like I did! There is free WIFI throughout though. Very good experience on whole and would definitely recommend, for business and leisure stays.

Room Tip: I was in far side of hotel as you stand looking at reception - right at end on ground floor - on op...

After many years of searching and disappointments we found at last, a good and pretty much consistent place for a Sunday lunch. We originally came across this restaurant about 8 years ago.
We have tried countless places for this very special lunch but none came anywhere close to the better half's perfect dinner.
We like the beef dinner as silver-side is so tender it melts in the mouth, the gravy has been made from the beef bones, (not for you veggies out there) cauliflower has a batter coating (very popular with my daughter), roast and mash potatoes, mushy peas, turnip,
Could not fault the food.
This could have been a 5 rating except there were no table cloths (there was a couple of years ago) just the wood table, also no wine glasses on the table just a juice type glass. we had to ask for the correct glasses.

The staff were very good and attentive.

Reception staff were very helpful and courteous, on the spot with a fan for a room that was warm on entry. Room is well appointed and equipped. Restaurant served a tremendous meal - nicoise salad then lamb roast for main course. Great service especially from the front desk and restaurant. Great find - will come back.

A reasonably clean and tidy hotel in aquiet area but not easy access for bags with 3 steps up and 6 down even to the ground floor. No lifts to upper floor and no porters. Definitely not suitable for oldies or anyone with mobility problems.

Please take no notice of the negative remarks as there is actually nothing to complain about.
Our room was clean and very comfortable with a lovely modern bathroom, in fact we had to ask the Operations Manager Gary to show us how the shower worked. He arrived at the door within minutes of our request.
All the staff were smart, very helpful and respectful to all guests.
The swimming pool and gym were very clean and modern and Ben was great telling us what the procedure was.
The meals were really great, breakfast there was enough choice to please every taste. The evening meals were huge and varied, in fact one evening we had the choice of 7 sweets.
The youngsters in the Dining Room were most polite and helpful.
We are hoping to return next year as we did not have time to fit in everything that we planned to do.
The Golf Course area was beautifully kept and laid out.
Thanks to everyone for a great time
