One of the better premiers. Very friendly staff, good breakfast and very good restaurant opposite with excellent carvery. Positioned just below Newcastle but on the a1 makes it good location. Overall cleanliness is good and rooms are in keeping with premier inn nowadays. Wifi works well and even costs coffee machine in reception area at a small cost of £1 but you can refill cup as often as you wish

Great value, good location, nice helpfull staff, when I pre-booked the breakfast I thought the £8 a little steep but it turned out to be very good and great value. Staff were very good with our 3 year old, who like all small boys are into everything. Toby next door is great if you like roasts, I would stay again.

Stayed here for 2 nights early sept 2012. Reception staff very helpfull and rooms were very pleasant. There is a Toby restaurant literally outside the main door which is good for breakfast etc although you could eat in the hotel. Not had one complaint with the place. The nightman Phil was very helpfull and I couldn't say enough good things about him, very helpfull and a great all round bloke. Chatted to us and helped us out no end during our stay, really good bloke. Would defiantly stay here again.

We arrived after a day watching England at the nearby cricket ground. We found the hotel very easy to find. We were greeted by a very pleasent and helpful young man on reception. Our top floor room was spotlessly clean, with a big bed which was a little bit to hard for us, but that said, we still managed a good nights sleep. We heard no noise through night until 7am when earlybird guests staarted to rise. We had our evening meal and breakfast at the Tobys across the carpark and enjoyed both. Staff were very helpful when we wanted opening times for a local shopping centre. Fantastic stay at another Premier Inn, we will defo be back.

Just stayed for one night, however could have stayed for a few more if we did not have other commitments. The service from booking in to leaving was excellent. was made to feel very welcome by all staff being so helpful and friendly. Our room was huge, spotlessly clean, with really comfortable bed and pillows. We had decided to use the Toby inn just round the corner for breakfast which was very good value. However we know that others in hotel had taken a breakfast within the hotel and reported that they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Enjoyed our break and would use this hotel again.

Stayed here for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend to use as a base to visit the highlights of the North East area.
Both my husband and I felt the location was brilliant as Durham was 10 minutes south and Newcastle 10 minutes north.
Our room was on the ground floor right at the front and we had no trouble sleeping, this is good when you consider there is a restaurant on the same site, a housing estate nearby and a motorway.
Staff were very friendly and helpful especially on arrival when I realised I had only booked the room for one person. This was sorted out straight away at no extra charge.

My husband & I booked into this hotel 12 weeks in advance, paid in full upon booking. On the day we were to arrive, we got caught up in two horrendous traffic jams and found we were going to be late checking in. I phoned the hotel and informed them of our dilemma, the lady thanked me for calling and said not to worry. The Hotel is in a very awkward position, and we got lost trying to find it - with a satnav! When we arrived at 7pm the only room available was a disabled room with only a wet room shower, no bath. I was too tired to argue, and just got on with it. We will not be using this hotel again.
