“Fairly tired holiday in but nice enough ...”
Reviewed 20 February 2013 via mobile

As always used this hotel as a business user , really easy to find just off the motorway and loads of parking . Friendly staff and easy check in either 500 points or drink complimentary as gold card holder which was nice !.

The hotel is not new or the most up
To date , however , it was clean and met the standard you would expect for holiday inn,

The room was large , with modern LCD tv and was clean .

The bar area was nice with very friendly helpfull staff and really good food , portions and quality and value . Large tv to watch the football and a relaxing lounge .

The breakfast was hot and cold buffet , although the hot food wasn't really that hot , infact mushrooms stone cold ?. Not really sure why?.

The staff again where really helpfull and. Overall the breakfast expirience was good , although some food was cold .

Overall an ok holiday inn , fairly good value and would stay there again if in the area .

One thing I notice more and more is that the wifi is always an extra cost , even in the lounge areas , becoming a let down the more holiday inns I stay at actually .

The staff here are really friendly and and the food in the restaurant exceeds expectations, the dining area is rather dated but the warm and efficient nature of the staff more than make up for this.situated just off the A1 but very quiet for its close proximity to the busy road.

Just over a year since my previous visit and delighted to report as good as before.Location is great in terms of road network and the staff are ultra friendly ( think it`s a Northern thing ). Room was as expected and had a very enjoyable bite to eat. Hope its not a year before my next visit!

Stayed here for a couple of nights at the weekend. We got a very good deal for both bed and breakfast. This hotel is ideal for people traveling, hence it's location near the motorway. Was very impressed with breakfast, especially as it was included in our package price (on this occasion). The staff were very friendly and down to earth, exactly what you need. The bathroom is a bit dated, but the shower was powerful and the water temperature could easily adjusted.

Well if you read previous reviews ( like your nans but without the perks) you will see I was less than complimentary about this hotel. However this time is different I am not sure if I have had an upgrade but the room is light airy modern and just pleasant. The windows lock correctly and although I can still hear the A1 it is not as promenant and more of a dull noise.

Overall a much better experience. Thank you

Stayed here for 1 night on business. Good location as drove up from Cheshire & happy to pay less to stay on outskirts of Newcastle with free parking & drive into city in the morning. This hotel is incredibly tired compared to most of the Holiday Inns I stay in. I was in an upgraded room, thankfully and the standard was not great. The room was clean but the bathroom was not, lots of hairs in the bath & on the wall tiles. The hotel on my night seemed to be the favoured choice for construction workers. Staff were ok, fairly helpful but they helped begrudgely rather than naturally. Did not eat breakfast so cannot comment on food or restaurant. Will not stay again, may as well drive extra 20 mins & stay in Newcastle centre for the same price. Sorry - just not a pleasurable stay!

My husband and I decided to have a little one night break here when we saw an offer for 5,000 Priority Club Points. We had a nice large end room with a handy sofa , coffee table and a large modern TV. There was nothing to fault in the hotel really and the staff were helpful and friendly. The only draw back is the price of the food here. A breakfast is £12.49 each and the dinner prices are not cheap either. We didn't eat here but had a carvery at night at the Toby which is a short walk from the hotel (opposite the Premier Inn). We didn't bother with breakfast.
There was no free WIFI at the hotel either not even at the bar.
The hotel is very convenient for the motorway and seems to be priced for business people.

Many thanks for your time in sharing your experiences, I was pleased to hear youhad a great stay and were able to take advantage of the special points deal.

It's always great to hear that the team have been friendly and welcoming. I note your comments regarding the food. We do offer discounted breakfast vouchers via reception if purchased the night before for £10.50 and at dinner we have a number of meal deals and theme nights throughout the week that offer great value alternatives.

I hope we can welcome you back in the future.
