...marred the Christmas lunch for our party of 40. The stuffing balls were dry and hard, the roast potatoes had lost their crispness and the other vegetables were soggy. When it came to the desserts the (supposedly) hot chocolate sauce turned out to be cold and the other options proved to be tepid. What a shame as the menu was fine and all the table arrangements were suitably festive.

Just come back from weekend away, have a list of issues as long as my arm and reading previous reviews looks like I am not alone. Young girl on reception very flippant and insistent that she had explained that we needed a "blue stamp" to add bar/ food to room - she didn’t ! Carvery an absolute joke - dried up food, no way were we eating there two nights. But, restaurant closed for private function so we went to the town and had dinner in the pub . Great atmosphere there! Dont waste your money - better places nearby

Stayed for 2 nights while attending the wine tasting course which was very well presented and informative, the check in was quick and our room was clean and tidy, the reports about dining seem to be very missleading as we could not find any thing wrong, the staff were very polite and helpfull, as it is buffet style i think that any problems can only be attributed to the way some people behave and not the hotel, would certainly recommend and use again

Spent one night here with Leisuretime as part of the Birmingham Christmas market trip. Arrived at hotel about 5.45pm. Queued to check in along with other passengers. The two girls on reception were very efficient and polite. We were given a double room instead of a twin but this was dealt with quickly and my friend had the double room next door to herself at no charge. There was even a complimentary bottle of rose in room. The room was very clean and comfy. the bathroom was spotless. Tea and coffee facilities; hairdryer and flat screen tv . The shower was weak but the water was lovely and hot. Went down for dinner in Jenny's restaurant and I was shocked at the rudeness of the young man on the desk. When we asked where we should sit he just pointed and said 'up there'. We were told to share with other people which is fair enough but he was just so abrupt and rude, really let the hotel down. The carvery dinner was lovely. I heard people complain that the sprouts were hard but they were 'al dente', not boiled to mush. Everything was hot and really nice. The desserts were lovely also. There was a big queue at the bar with only one girl serving, which was a let down, but things happen. Breakfast at 8 am was really nice with a lot of choice, again all well cooked and hot. I would definitely come to this hotel again. We only paid £69 for the weekend so it was fantastic value. Don't believe all the bad reviews.

Stayed for 2 day Birmingham market weekend with 5 friends, travelling with Magestic coaches. They charged £79 .99p for weekend and it was a bargain.Check in was quick and well organized.Room was big, well furnished with all amenities and well stocked tea and coffee. The evening meal both nights was cavery, food was hot and a varied choice, only dislike sprouts were a little to al dente for me,and that is fine nit picking.First night bingo, quiz and disco good night but it finished too early.Second night medieval night not to out taste but we enjoyed.Included was a 99p for each drink bar, wine was not too bad and went down well.Only grumble only one serving so long queue.it is a very big rambling hotel.like a rabbit warren, rooms every where. There was a wedding party and a few company do`s.Evryone friendly and enjoying themselves.Friends used spa facilities. They said it was hard to find, and accesss poorly lit.Pool was very cold but jaccuzi warm and inviting. The hotel grounds are amazing.\\\\church and church yard right on door step.Would like to go back and explore village. All in all very enjoyable weekend, and I would recommend hotel.

Room Tip: rooms on lower ground floor very quiet

My wife and I stayed in this hotel for four nights from 6th December to 10th December. We were travelling on a coach tour of Stratford-on-Avon, Derby and Warwickshire with "Glenton Travel".After reading so many bad reviews we were a little apprehensive about what we would find.Upon arrival we were, however, very impressed with the building and the grounds. They have a real countryhouse feel.We had no trouble being checkedin and our room was large ,comfortable and well-heated against the December chill. We had no trouble with any of the staff anf found the food at both breakfast and dinner to be good and with plenty of choice. We also had a most pleasant swim in the pool at the health club.
The hotel is an excellent base for touring the area and is only two minutes walk from the very attractive village of Market Bosworth.
I would certainly return here and would only make two suggestions for improvement,
1. When large coach parties are in residence- put on more staff as delays can build up.
2. Some room furniture is little scratched and old- replace this.!

Room Tip: Get dpowqn to breakfast about 7.30am as it is much quieter then.
