“Hotel needs updating.”
Reviewed 22 August 2014

We have just returned from a 4 night break at Bosworth Hall. Its a beautiful Hotel with lovely grounds. But, unfortunately there needs to be more organisation. The restaurant is far too small for the amount of guests, and we had to wait sometimes for half an hour to be seated, and then we couldn't sit with friends. The food serving area was dirty (i.e. the milk container needed a good clean). Some of the crockery was dirty and cracked. Two of the people in my party went down with upset stomachs, and this can only be blamed on the hotel food,as they did not eat anywhere else. Disabled facilities are poor, my Husband uses a mobility scooter and although he could get to our room using it, when using the bar or restaurant, there was no slope access to the toilets. We certainly will not be using this Hotel again.Mrs M. Gilchrist.

We stayed here on a 1 night deal of dinner,b&b, bottle of wine, and use of spa at £60. The staff were helpful though didn't know if the restaurant was full - the guest had to find the restaurant and book separately. Our room had no air-con and no windows. There was a skylight above the bed with no blind so we were woken at sunrise. It was a hot night so had the door propped open to get air. Our neighbors also kept us awake through the night with intermittent swearing and shouting.
The hotel looks wonderful but does does not live up to its promise.

I really don't know where to start, after reading the reviews i thought i would give the hotel the benefit of the doubt, i wished i hadn't. The hotel from the outside looked beautiful but step inside and the troube begin's. The lack of staff was very apparent. We thought we would have some lunch as our room wasn't ready, unfortunately they had run out of a few of the items on it. Thankfully we were upgraded to Crompton's for dinner as the main restaurant was full as this was the only highlight of the stay. We queued for over half an hour for breakfast so when we finally got in and cleared our own table there was hardly anything left dirty would be an understatement. The two large coach party's each day didn't help with the lack of staff to cope with it. This hotel has sold it's self out which is such a shame. This hotel needs to be closed down and have some money spent on it.

Me and my partner brought a group on deal, as a treat and stayed last night. Well it was an experience to say the least. Reception staff were lovely on arrival. Included in the deal was pimms and strawberries in arrival, which went down a treat. Staff told us to book our '3 course meal' in the restaurant. Confusion when booking as we thought it would be a three course meal, and not a carvery. When going for dinner, the restaurant was very busy and understaffed. Fair range of meat, all though tasteless. Small range of vegetables these also tasteless, like they had been there all day. Fudge cake was on the desert meal, but was taken off due to lack of it. Overall disappointed with the meal. The room was cosy, apart from being woken up at 12.20am due to the couple staying in the room above us, arguing, swearing and throwing items across the bedroom. Reception phoned to deal with the issue, noise soon settled after the phone call. We were then woken at 6.25am to the fire alarm going off for a matter of seconds. With no explanation why? Overall a poor stay.

We visited the hotel after finding a fantastic deal on living social and it was lovely! After reading all the previous reviews we were all (myself and 4 other friends) very skeptical and were expecting the worst but to our surprise they were all a load of rubbish. The spa area could do with being updated and the steam room had an odd smell about it but other than that it was fine. The rooms were gorgeous, 2 of us had a room with 2 double beds, 1 of us had a double room on the ground floor and the other 2 had a double room in the main building which we weren't expecting so that was a shock! All rooms were clean, tidy and very comfortable. The food in the evening was delicious, I recommend the lamb! And breakfast was nice too, although there wasn't a huge selection but that didn't matter. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and were happy to help where they could. To be honest if you're too worried about the state of the window frames and picture frames or the up keep of the building then you need to get a life or some better company! We had a fab time and would go back again :)

We had our stay purchased from Groupon and given to us as a wedding gift. It was £69 for one night with dinner, breakfast and Pimms and strawberries on arrival. The groupon deal was described as a spa break with full access to the on site spa.On arrival the hall and grounds looked great and we were very excited to get in and enjoy our relaxing spa break. After check in we spent a good twenty minutes looking for our room. There were no staff anywhere to help and when we did find someone behind the bar they had no idea where the room was and in the end another guest helped us.
The room itself was big but in dire need of maintenance and updating and a good clean!
We headed down to the bar for our Pimms with our bag ready for our relaxing spa afternoon.when we go to the bar we were greated by the most miserable member of staff not to mention slow.
Excited to get the spa and wondering if there even was one as we hadn't seen a fluffy bathrobe in site. After looking round and finding no staff the same guest from earlier pointed us in the right direction through some open fire doors and down to a run down building. Inside was a small swimming pool, a cold jacuzzi, tiny gym and one room for treatments that needed to be pre booked at the reception. I had had visions of the "spa break" consisting of relaxing surroundings and fluffy bathrobes and white slippers. We left immediately and went back to our room.
We went down to Jenny Carvery at 6.30 after booking a table earlier that day only to be told the carvery didn't start till 7 and we shouldn'thave been booked in at that time. Dinner was ok. School canteen setting and a sparse amount of staff who weren't very helpful. After an alarm going off in our room around 6am we decided to go to breakfast which was what you would expect for the price. Very filling and plenty of it. We actually paid for late checkout before hand so we could go to the spa after breakfast but neither of us were keen to return so we left by 10 am.
If you are looking for a spa break you should completely avoid this and bad advertising on groupons part as I don't think you could class this as a spa. The staff are few and far between and not very helpful and the hotel is in need of a complete overhaul. I would not recommend this to anyone.
