“Lovely place poor food.”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

We went in on our way home from a very long drive one Friday night after 7pm. They had the buffet for a friday which was chippy style. We waited forever on a table we were told would take 20 mins to find empty tables ourselves, then told if we wanted to order from the menu it would take another 30 mins. So luke warm food from buffet area had to do, there was me hubby and 11yr old. Im diabetic and seriously needed to eat so chicken and chips was my choice...big mistake. I couldnt finish it as i was feeling ill with tummy pains so we left. Got home and spent the night being sick and horrible pains. Phoned to tell them about it and as usual everyone was nice and friendly but trying to give me free food as a sorry. I just wanted to tell them they need to be honest with customers about no staff and keep buffet food well heated and temperatures checked. Never been back.

“Poor food and disinterested service.”
Reviewed 1 July 2014 via mobile

Bar staff more interested in discussing a broken phone between them rather than serving customers, serious need of customer service training. Breaded mushrooms were "ok", but sauces weak and liquidy. Scampi was horrendous, hard breadcrumb shells hiding watery and insipid bits of what could have at one time possibly been some form of cheap scampi complete with gritty entrails. Tartar sauce was thick, gluey and nothing like the real thing, served with fluorescent green mushy peas. Enjoy, not.

the football was on tv, and some staff were more interested in watching that than serving at the bar. the meal we had was freshly cooked and very tasty. drinks were not pricey at all. staff must be on commission to hand out loyalty cards, i filled in form and card was swiped when i paid for meal was told points would be given when i registered card, but to date no points have been given to me.

“Awful. Don't put yourselves through it.”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Have had a good breakfast here before, but on this particular Sunday it was dreadful in every way. The buffet was great, apart from they ran out of yoghurts, the manager made us wait for croissants and never came back with any, leaving us standing at the breakfast bar, oh, and the Costa coffee machine ran out of coffee beans, and when it was finally filled the coffee was luke warm.
We waited an hour for cooked breakfasts and when they arrived they were stone cold. I ordered poached eggs with it and can only imagine they had been cooked then left on the side, they weren't edible. My family had joined us, and after an hour they have up and walked out past the queues if people waiting to get a table. Keep driving, don't do it to yourselves.

“Never go Saturday evening”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

Went Saturday early evening. Dread to think if it had been later. Queued for 10 minutes to order meal and drinks. Massive queue. Not set up for loads of people. Finally ordered food and drinks.
Those who reserved tables were left standing at front door being ignored. Food surprisingly was served quite quickly considering. Our biggest mistake was ordering desserts. Queued for 15
minutes for these. Sat and waited another 15 minutes before going to ask where they were. While I was waiting for an answer from waitress who went to check, another person said he'd been waiting 1 hour for his dessert. Finally got dessert. Can't understand why there is not enough staff on Saturday evening especially with premier inn next door. Not everyone reserves tables if that's what they go by. The whole experience has put me off going again.
