Owner description: A traditional pub serving an ever changing range of up to 12 real ales featuring beers from Oakham Ales, Grainstore Brewery and many other micro breweries. It is not just about the ales as you can enjoy a glass of fine wine from our independent wine merchant, lovely to sup in our sunny courtyard garden or sample from a selection of gins and malt whiskies.

A cracking pub with a good range of well kept beers from a variety of brewers. The landlord was very welcoming and knowledgeable. The home made pork pie was a great accompaniment to the beer. The interesting collection of signed Rugby shirts was a bonus. The pub is tucked away in a side street between the town and the station and is well worth seeking out.

Although a little of the beaten track, well worth seeking out for a pleasant welcome and a good range of real ales. Unusually shaped, there are in fact two bars, so it's worth having a wander to peruse the full range of real ales and ciders available on tap. The landlord is happy to help if your struggling to make a selection. Each real ale is available either sparkled or unsparkled, the choice is yours, via one of two dispensers for each handpump. So no fiddling with the sparkler. If you're not into your real ales, the Maisel Weiss is highly recommended, or if you are after spirits as well as the usual suspects you'll also find a range of gins on offer. I can't comment any more than that as the real ale is more than enough for me. A range of pub snacks are on offer. And finally they've started running beer festivals, so you can sometimes have even more beers to choose from. Well worth a visit.
