“Nearly excellent.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

A picturesque pub in a very pretty Warwickshire village, The Bell is the sort of pub you wish you lived within walking distance of, until you go inside!
The beer is excellent,( albeit expensive), the decor is decidedly modern 'Gastro Pub',and the staff are friendly and efficient. However it has to be one of the noisiest pubs I have ever been in. No one was misbehaving or, to my knowledge, even behaving in a loud manner but the bar area is small, very busy and totally lacks any soft surface or furnishings, not even curtains at the windows! The result is a cacophony of noise, you have to shout your order and even then the staff ask you to repeat it. To be fair this does not apply to the restaurant which is just sufficiently far enough from the bar to be OK. The menu is excellent and diverse and the food and service also deserve an excellent rating. I will definitely return to the restaurant but if I lived in Tanworth in Arden I would have to find another 'local'.

“Excellent & very picturesque”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

We went with ours friends & their baby to the Bell for Sunday lunch. Ahead of time we'd requested a table with room enough to park the buggy by & the staff made sure we had this facility. The food was extremely high quality & pretty reasonably priced too (£17.95 for a Sunday roast & pudding), the decor was very classy & the staff were attentive & very friendly. Would definitely go again (maybe for a birthday meal or celebration if some sorts) & would definitely recommend to friends & family. The village is also very pretty for a stroll when you've finished your food. We paid £100 for 2 courses for 4 of us & also a couple of drinks each. Overall 9/10.

“STILL EUPHORIC!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2014

Decided to celebrate a special birthday by inviting 15 girlfriends to lunch at "The Bell" ... a lovely pub facing the village green, in idyllic Tanworth-in-Arden. I had conferred with Ashley, the main man, in advance; his suggestions were great, and he devised an excellent menu with choices just for us, plus several extra special touches (e.g.prosecco with raspberry coulis). After mixing and mingling, and drinking aperitifs and eating beautiful canapes as starters...we had one long table (flowers all down the middle) in a lovely private room. The atmosphere was happy and lively, and compliments to the Chefs (Ian & Catherine) were enthusiastic and unaminous (lemon marinated chicken breast, or roast fillet of fresh cod, or baked goat's cheese, tomato & basil tart...all with delicious vegetables or salad, and then a choice of lovely desserts.

Thank you to all the great staff at The Bell for making my birthday even more special.

“Birthday lunch out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

My partner and I visited for my birthday lunch, we sat in the garden which was pleasant, food was not outstanding my partners meal came with slimey lettuce on the side and my steak and kidney pudding was very hard and only came with a couple of teaspoons of mash not great for £10 each! And the toilets could do with a make over, men's doubling up as storage :-/
