Its my honest feedback, My first visit to the hotel was with my work mates in the beginning of this year and it was disaster. Nothing went right starting from car park, food quality, atmosphere, service, rude staff. However last week again i and my mates checked the TripAdvisor and found few recent positive comments about the hotel.
Confused with the last time experience took risk and things looked promising with warm acknowledgment at reception by lovely female at the reception, Going forward, had a drink in the bar prior to the meal and were served straight away with a smile.
On asking for the table in the restaurant we were asked by the restaurant manager i believe if we had a booking, As it was not planned, we didn't made any booking for the evening. we were told that table would be available in next 20-30 minutes. In fairness restaurant was busy and he did suggested us to have a drink in the lounge and will arrange a table as soon as possible.we were given table as promised,There was a choice between buffet and the menu,Only downside i would say was the food on the buffet was not looking very appealing. However food from the menu was OK and we were really impressed with restaurant staff specially Jamie who i believe is an asset for the hotel. she was very attentive and friendly. It was my second visit even though i live local, i was very impressed this time and i believe its my responsibility to share my honest experience with other TripAdvisor users.

Myself and my family stayed in this hotel for 1 night.
Checking in was, staff was helpful and welcoming.

The rooms were nice. Very clean and spotless. All the rooms included coffee and tea facilities, television, hair dryer. Normal things which should be in a room. Just to let you know, reception is on the first floor. You will also find a vending machine near reception too. It actually sells useful item like: razors, toothpaste, soap, shower gel and more stuff like that.

Finding the swimming pool was quite an adventure as it was hard to find, though the water was warm, jacuzzi was out of order when we went there. The pool was a decent size and had a baby pool as well. The gym looked quite small, but I didn't use it.

Changing rooms were very cold, so wrap your towel around you otherwise there is a change of catching a cold!!!

As for dinner, we went out to Pizza Hut - not the hotel restaurant, so I can't give you any information about that.

The beds were comfy and pillows were great (as usually they're toooo soft!)

Breakfast was good a variety of: toast, jam, scrambled eggs (which weren't good,) you can order tea and poached eggs by simply asking a waiter/waitress, bacon, sausages, bake beans, black pudding, fruit, yoghurt and other tasty things.

Overall 'an enjoyable stay'.

Nearby there's a transport museum (which is free) and is worth checking out, but the location isn't nice.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor are easy to get to and from the pool as the first floor is where the pool/g...

Although only around 1km from The Hawthorns and Smethwick Galton Bridge stations, it's a difficult walk from either requiring you to cross a major road at a roundabout with no pedestrian crossings. Very handy for West Bromwich Albion football stadium though (10 mins walk). The hotel itself seems a sprawling development, with compact (smallish) rooms, similar in many ways to Holiday Inn Express, but with a much better breakfast selection. Shame about the Travelodge-style plastic chair in the room! Friendly staff but unable to give me even an hour later than the standard 12 noon checkout on a Saturday.

We booked this last minute, quite cheaply and so didn't expect the best. Was pleasantly surprised though. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the room though very compact was clean and comfortable. Would have liked a bath but the shower was very good, however, towels were minimal. We had one bath and one hand towel which for two people is not ideal. After we had both had a shower after arrival the towel was obviously wet but there were no radiators to dry it on and next morning after a shower the towel was still damp. They provide tea and coffee making and there were plenty of both but very little milk to go with it. The restaurant was set out well, tables not to close together and the staff friendly. The menu had a minimal selection but the food was very good. We had a nice waiter, though inexperienced, we were not offered steak knife or condiments and after asking if we could wait to have coffee until we had finished the wine forgot to come back to us. The bar was comfortable but they had no ice for drinks! Breakfast had a good selection of cereals and fruit/yogurt, cheeses and meat as well as cooked English breakfast choices. The food was cooked well and was hot but the coffee was just warm and not the best flavour. We didn't use the gym but it did look well equipped and was busy and we avoided the pool due to it being half term and filled with children - looked ok though. The hotel was not the warmest I've been in, especially in the corridors and restaurant, though there was a heater in the restaurant to top up the temperature and it was very cold outside. It was worth the money we paid and ideal as a stopover place, easy to get to from the motorway junction and in a quiet spot for saying the motorway is so close. Would stay at other hotels in this chain but probably not here again, not because of the hotel just the local area did not appeal as were unable to find anywhere nice to go or to eat without venturing into Birmingham.

We stayed as a family of 4 twice over the easter break. Overall the hotel was ok. Functional and reasonably clean but in some need of repairs or updates. Staff were quite helpful, restaurant service slow and food rather variable in quality.

On our first stay my wife mistakenly left her nighty behind hanging on in the bathroom. We contacted the hotel regarding this who said they would keep it for us. When we returned they "couldn't find" or locate it. Someone had obviously liked the look of a nice, reasonably expensive nighty. Just be aware of what you leave in your room here as I wouldn't trust the cleaning staff at all.

On a positive note we had issues with a faulty and extremely dirty TV remote which could not be replaced or fixed and were given 25% off our meal in the restaurant as compensation. Didn't make up for losing the nighty but was an ok gesture for the TV problems.

I was a bit worried staying here due to the reviews but I had nothing to worry about. Swimming pool and spa facilities are a great bonus to this hotel and gives it the edge on other hotels. Rooms are standard size with a great variety of channels. It's in a good location, very easy to find. Not sure if other people stayed in a different hotel as the only negative I can think of, is the pool table only had one cue...now that's saying something
